Singaraja- The achievements made by students of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) at the International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx) series of Thailand Inventors’ Day from 2 to 6 February 2020 did not only come from the Faculty of Medicine. But also from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA), namely I Wayan Arnata, Cokorda Gde Krisparinama, and Ni Made Radha Jiwantini. Students of the Physics Education study program who are members of one team managed to win a bronze medal for skincare products.
Confirmed, Friday (7/2/2020), Arnata explained that in making products, his team is trying to explore local potential from Bali so that they can be developed and have a selling value. From that, the idea was born to develop skincare made from VCO with a combination of essential oils. “This product is relatively new because the basic ingredients are VCO plus Japanese and Cempaka essential oils,” he explained.
To produce this innovative product, requires very complex preparation, starting from making manuscripts and abstracts based on relevant journals and supporting product research, making products, testing products in the laboratory, testing the effectiveness of products to inhibit skin aging using chicken skin media, making product packaging design, product organoleptic testing in the Singaraja area with 30 respondents, and then registering the product for copyright. “Based on lab tests, this product is effective as an anti-aging agent. Kmai also sees good market prospects for this product,” he said. In the event held by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition (BITEC), this team had to compete with 514 inventions from 21 countries. “Hopefully in the future, more and more innovative products will emerge from Undiksha students,” he added.
