Bangli- The Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) movement sharing with residents affected by the Covid-19 pandemic continues. This social action does not only target residents in Buleleng Regency but also Bangli Regency. The assistance distributed was in the form of dozens of basic necessities, Sunday (14/6/2020).
The handover was carried out directly by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd with staff for residents of Songan A Village and Songan B Village, Kintamani District. This activity was also attended by the Regent of Bangli, I Made Gianyar, Head of Kintamani District, I Wayan Bona, and the village government. The Chancellor of Jampel said that in the midst of this pandemic, the mutual cooperation movement really needed to be carried out as an effort to ease the burden on society. “This pandemic has had an impact on various sectors, including the people’s economy. We from Undiksha are here and trying to lighten the burden,” he explained.
He further conveyed, the distribution of assistance packaged in this tour was also an effort to support public health so that they had resistance to Covid-19 attacks. Besides that, it is also a form of implementing Tri Hita Karana in terms of establishing good relations with others. The distribution begins with a field survey so that it is right on target and really provides benefits. “To prevent transmission of Covid-19, we don’t just protect ourselves. But also other people. This is a form of Tri Hita Karana which is also the basis for realizing Undiksha’s vision as a superior university in Asia in 2045,” he emphasized.
In addition to distributing aid, education was also carried out for the community. It is hoped that the implementation of the Covid-19 prevention protocol can be carried out properly. “Wear a mask, wash hands, and apply social distancing, it needs to be done. We tell the residents. Besides that, we will enter a new normal. In this case, the normal in question is no longer what it used to be. But the new order still prioritizes the Covid-19 prevention protocol,” he added.
The Regent of Bangli, I Made Gianyar, said that the collaboration with the largest state university in North Bali was already underway in the field of Tri Dharma of Higher Education which concerns education and teaching, research, and community service. In line with that, the sharing movement in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic is greatly appreciated. “We thank you for Undiksha’s concern,” he said.
He explained the Covid-19 pandemic had quite an impact on the community’s economy. Likewise, there are people who are infected. The local government has made efforts to handle and campaign for prevention protocols. “If there is a case. We continue to take preventive measures. We also ask for the support of the community to implement the applicable protocols,” added the Regent from Bunutin Village, Kintamani District.
Apart from the Bangli area, Undiksha had previously distributed basic food assistance to residents in a number of villages in Buleleng Regency. Apart from that, there were also sinks in public places scattered in a number of locations and handing over of personal protective equipment to the medical staff at the Singaraja Army Hospital, Buleleng Hospital, Pratama Girimas Hospital, Mangusada Hospital, Badung and Wangaya Hospital Denpasar.
