Singaraja- Candidates for Civil Servants (CPNS) lecturers at the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) who took part in Basic Training (Latsar) at the Jinengdalem Campus, Buleleng Regency did not only receive various materials from the instructors. But also specifically from the Head of the Human Resources (HR) Bureau of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud), Dra. Dyah Ismayanti, M.Ed., Monday (10/2/2020).
On that occasion, he not only conveyed the Law relating to Civil Servants (PNS). But it also encourages Latsar participants to be dedicated and to work well without leaving their competence. In addition, they are also required to commit to their functions in the institution. “They have to be committed. Not only for themself but also how to improve institutions that are better with them,” he explained. Entering the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, Latsar participants were also asked to master technology. This is also in line with encouragement from the Minister of Education and Culture. “As a lecturer, you are not only able to teach. Because technology in this era is very important, “he added.
He also emphasized that he would not recommend if later these lecturers proposed to change assignments after becoming civil servants. “I don’t recommend it. Even though civil servants can be anywhere, they must be committed to the initial decision. Now they can be in Undiksha, so don’t leave Undiksha,” he said.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., in his remarks, said that the Head of the Bureau has a very close relationship with civil servants, especially related to administration. This includes determining the passing of Latsar participants. “The head of the Bureau determines whether their careers (CPNS-red) can be continued or not. If they can take part well until they get the title of passing very satisfactorily, then these 40 CPNS can become civil servants,” he explained.
The Latsar participants were asked to pay close attention to the material presented, so they could become professional lecturers by always improving their competence in their fields, having Indonesian character and Undiksha’s character, namely the character of Ganesha. “This CPNS is desired to become superior human resources to realize an advanced Indonesia,” he said.
In particular, the Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency expressed his appreciation for the presence of the Head of this Bureau. This is considered to have positive implications for Undiksha’s progress and shows a belief in Undiksha as the organizer of national activities. “Because if the university is visited by an important person, at the level of Head of Bureau and above, especially when the Secretary-General is also present, it means that our institution has been entrusted with holding activities that have never been carried out by universities. It can be said that Undiksha is the only campus that organizes Latsar on its own campus. This is a tremendous honor,” he said.
In the midst of Undiksha which has become national, more attention is now being devoted to increasing its power on an international scale, including making efforts to accelerate realizing Undiksha’s vision of becoming a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia in 2045. “We have been recognized nationally. It’s just how we talk to excel in Asia. I hope it won’t take long for the vision of the institution to be realized. If possible no later than 2030. Excellence doesn’t have to be number one. But it can enter the top one hundred,” he added. As previously reported, Latsar was attended by 40 CPNS class III, taking place from 28 January to 9 April 2020. (hms)
