Singaraja-The Faculty of Languages and Arts at the Ganesha University of Education (FBS-Undiksha) held a Work Meeting on Program Development and Budget Allocation for 2023, Thursday (3/2/2022). One program that continues to be encouraged is the increase in the number of foreign students.
FBS Dean, Prof. Dr. I Made Sutama, M.Pd., explained that in order to support the learning of students from abroad, the faculty has prepared international classrooms. “Facilities must contain contents, someone must use them,” he said. This flagship program has also been emphasized to department heads and study program coordinators to carry out promotions with various strategies. “We emphasize to the Kajur and Coordinating Study Programs in assisting Mr. WD I who is in charge of collaboration to carry out promotions to attract foreign students to take part in the lecture program at FBS,” he explained.
Delivered further, FBS Undiksha has specific scientific fields to be offered to foreign students. For example, Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Balinese Language Education, and Fine Arts Education. “We have specialties that we can offer, in addition to things that are universal, such as those in study programs under the foreign language department,” continued Sutama.
The dean from Ubud, Gianyar Regency emphasized that, in addition to increasing the number of foreign students, FBS is committed to creating programs that are in line with the rector’s policies, both to realize Undiksha as an International Reputable University in Education and Leadership and other activities related to strategic plans and Key Performance Indicators (IKU) Higher Education. “As previously stated, we are committed to the University’s big program under the Chancellor. Because of that, what was his direction during the Rakorbang, as has been conveyed by him and the Deputy Chancellor II, so we will continue that,” he added.
One of these activities was to present Undiksha’s Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Administration, Finance, and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., as a guest speaker. On this occasion, he conveyed that in an effort to realize Undiksha as IRUEL, in accordance with the rector’s policy direction, in 2023 there are three strategic policy pillars that must be carried out together from the rectorate level to the departments with lecturers in them, namely good governance, good budgeting, and good achievements. “Relying on the three pillars of the policy, all programs and budget allocations in every faculty, institution, graduate school, unit, and other strategic supporting elements must be derivatives and real translations of the three,” he said.
In addition, the budget is also directed at strengthening learning facilities and infrastructure, HR qualifications and professionalism, clustering, IRUEL acceleration, and PTN BH acceleration.
It is hoped that the designed program will be properly implemented and supported in harmony in order to create more competitive faculties and universities. (hms)
