The deadline for registration of prospective candidates (balloons) for Chancellor of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) for the 2019-2023 period has ended, Thursday (29/11/2018). Disabled, there were five registrants, all of whom were internal to Undiksha. Namely, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd who is still active as chancellor, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pujawan, M.Kes., who still serves as Deputy Chancellor III, Dr. I Gusti Lanang Agung Parwata, S.Pd., M.Kes as Head of the Student Career and Entrepreneurship Development Unit, Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, S.Pd., M.Pd who is the Dean of the Technical and Vocational Faculty (FTK) and Prof. Dr. I Gede Astra Wesnawa, Chair of LPPM Undiksha.
According to the schedule, registration opened on November 13. I Nyoman Jampel was the first to come to the committee secretariat, at around 12.10 WITA and immediately handed over the files. After that, this academic from Badung Regency said that in registering, he carried out the same commitment as registering in his first period, three years ago. “I did register, just like when I registered three years ago. “We want to continue what we have initiated together with all Undiksha components,” he explained.
In the contest for the chancellor’s seat, the committee has also written to hundreds of universities in Indonesia to provide equal opportunities to participate in registration. “The committee did invite other universities. What is clear is that I signed up to make Undiksha better. There’s nothing more than that,” he said.
The former Deputy Chancellor II of Undiksha said he had made preparations to face future opponents. The vision and mission which is the spirit for building higher education has been prepared. “The vision and mission must be attached during registration. “The vision that has been created on how to work in the next four years can realize the vision set by the institution, namely to become a superior university based on the Tri Hta Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045. I hope it can be realized before that,” he said.
Facing this election, no special team was formed. Jampel chose to walk like water. “I walked, tried my best, without having to form teams to strengthen this,” he said. According to him, all Undiksha components are his team. During his three years in office, all members of the community have supported and are very committed to what the previous vision was to achieve the vision of the institution. “That’s what I understand. That’s what I saw. Astungkara can be like that. I am fine. “If there is something better, please,” he stressed while stating that he remained optimistic that he would be able to get support. “Stay optimistic,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, S.Pd., M.Pd, who was confirmed separately, acknowledged his participation in the registration. Just can’t say much yet. He emphasized that his step was none other than because he wanted to help build Undiksha better. “Now Undiksha is really extraordinary. “I just want to help build it,” he said.
With these five registrants, the committee will no longer extend the registration time, because there are already more than four registrants, according to the minimum requirements. After this, an administrative selection was carried out which took place from December 30 to December 7. The announcement of the results of the selection of prospective candidates is scheduled for December 14.
