Singaraja– Students at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) are continuously encouraged to become superior, creative, and innovative generations. This is one of the strategies in facing increasingly fierce global competition. “Youth are the future of the nation and state, youth are also the hope for the world, Indonesian youth must advance and have the courage to conquer the world, I hope that in the future there will be many young figures from around the world,” said Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., quoted the Minister of Youth and Sports’ remarks at the commemoration of Youth Pledge Day, Monday (28/10/2019).
It was emphasized that Undiksha is currently making efforts to give birth to a superior generation. One of them is creating quality learning, including accommodating the needs in facing the industrial revolution 4.0 era, such as mastery of information technology. “To excel, cannot be separated from the learning process,” he said.
Mastery of information technology was also mentioned in the Menpora’s remarks. This is considered capable of enabling young people to increase their knowledge capacity in resource development and competitiveness. However, it cannot be denied that in its development, technology has had a negative impact, becoming a medium for spreading destructive information. “This is what the youth have to anticipate,” he said.
This year’s commemoration carries the theme “United We Go Forward”. This, according to the Chancellor of Jampel, must be welcomed by the younger generation who are the successors of the nation. “For youth, it is a must because, in the hands of Indonesian youth, they can be more advanced,” he said. Delivered further, in the face of competition, youth must do something positive. This is in line with the mental revolution movement that is often echoed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. “We no longer have to survive and face the negative impacts of modernization and globalization, but must be able to provide color to change the world for the better,” said Jampel.
