Singaraja– University of Education Ganesha (Undiksha) students who received Bidikmisi in 2019 were gathered at the Campus Auditorium, on Sunday (22/9/2018). Students of various study programs are required to be held accountable for their achievements. “They must be responsible as bidikmisi recipients. Must produce achievements. Can bring out innovation. This is also important for Undiksha,” stressed Undiksha Vice Chancellor III, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd giving directions.
The scholarships awarded by the government are strictly selected. The recipients are not only from underprivileged families but also have good academic abilities. It is hoped that this can be understood. Don’t just accept money, but are not good at academics. “These recipients are the chosen ones. So we have to be grateful and balance it with positive things,” he said.
The student’s academic development will continue to be monitored. If unsatisfactory results appear, coaching will be given, even threatened with revocation of the scholarship. There are a number of requirements that must be met by students. One of them is a minimum GPA of 3.0. “This must be observed,” said the former Director of the Undiksha Postgraduate Program.
On this occasion, 668 batch X bidikmisi recipient students were also asked to hone their soft skills. This, according to Suastra, is very important to have in order to face competition in the world of work later. “It’s not enough just to be smart. But must have soft skills. You have to have character,” he said.
As academics, the pillars of nationality, namely Pancasila, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, the 1945 Constitution, and Unity in Diversity must also be carried by these students. At that meeting, it was also emphasized, in fact, it became a dead price. “A national pillar that should not be ignored,” he explained. Apart from bidikmisi, other scholarship-recipient students are also required to do the same thing. In this socialization, the material was also filled in by the Head of Undiksha’s Academic, Student Affairs, Planning and Cooperation Bureau, Drs. I Made Yasa, accompanied by the Head of Student Affairs and Public Relations, Drs. I Ketut Surya Panca. (hms)
