Singaraja– Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) again accepts students from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Philippines. These students will take part in the Foreign Schooling Field Practicum (PLP-LN) program in a number of schools in Buleleng Regency. On the other hand, Undiksha also sent a number of students for the credit transfer program.
The handover event took place online, Tuesday (4/10/2022). On this occasion, Undiksha’s Deputy Chancellor for Academic and Cooperation, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., in his remarks representing the chancellor said that the number of students accepted by Undiksha was 32 people. These students will take part in the PLP program for two months in six partner schools. While students sent by Undiksha were 20 people. Students from the Faculty of Education will take part in a credit transfer program for one semester at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Philippines.
The implementation of this program, Rasben Dantes hopes, can provide benefits for each tertiary institution, one of which is in strengthening the internalization of the home program. For students, it is expected to provide an international experience which is very important in the global era. “We hope to continue to provide opportunities for students to learn from competent sources, get an international learning atmosphere, get new and memorable experiences,” he said.
On this occasion, he also expressed appreciation to the ranks of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Philippines, who have trusted Undiksha as a collaborative partner. Likewise, partner schools and mentors to contribute to the success of this program. Meanwhile, for students, he invites them to show their best abilities and stay motivated to join the program. “I hope students will be able to gain a lot of knowledge, experience, and joy while practicing teaching,” he hoped.
The Deputy Chancellor from Badung Regency added, henceforth, Undiksha is also open to carrying out student exchange programs or the like offline. “So I really hope that one day we will welcome Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University here at Undiksha and starting next year we can send students to engage in collaborative programs,” he added.
Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Dr. Elsie M. Pacho also expressed the same thing. He also gave appreciation for the good cooperation from Undiksha in implementing skills development programs for students. It is hoped that this program will continue and will be implemented even better.
The collaboration between Undiksha and Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University is not only this year but has been going on for several years. (hms)
