Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) one of the largest tertiary institutions in the stretch of North Bali took part in an entrepreneurial penta helix collaboration titled Entrepreneur Hub Buleleng Regency which was held by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia on 15 and 16 June 2023 in Lovina, Buleleng.
In this collaboration, Undiksha participated with the Office of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives and UKM of Buleleng Regency, PLUT KUMKM Buleleng Regency, and the Entrepreneurial Community in Buleleng Regency.
The penta helix entrepreneurship collaboration is an effort to develop innovation and technology-based entrepreneurship. In this collaboration, the government functions as a regulator providing policy support and setting up a conducive business environment. Academics provide support in terms of research and development, as well as teaching and training to improve the quality of human resources.
At the event which carried the theme “Development of Entrepreneurship Ecosystems to Create Established Entrepreneurs, Innovative and Sustainable Businesses”, the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. I Gede Adi Yuniarta, S.E., Ak., M.Si. In his remarks, Undiksha as one of the tertiary institutions in Indonesia was committed to supporting the government in developing entrepreneurship. This has been done by Undiksha through the Student Entrepreneurial Program (PMW) which is held every year. In addition, support is also provided through research and community service programs.
It is hoped that the Entrepreneur Hub will continue. This activity is seen as a space for relevant stakeholders to share knowledge, build synergy, and take advantage of the potential of each party to achieve the same goal, namely to build innovation and technology-based entrepreneurship that is expected to have a positive impact on society. In addition, Entrepreneur Hub activities can open up job opportunities, and improve people’s welfare.
Deputy for Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Ir. Siti Azizah, MBA conveyed that the Entrepreneur Hub activity is the first step in synergy in accelerating and implementing Presidential Regulation Number 2 of 2022 concerning National Entrepreneurship Development for 2021-2024. This activity is specifically designed to provide in-depth insight into entrepreneurship. This agenda is important for business actors to follow, especially those who still want to continue to develop their businesses. During the agenda, participants will receive materials that will provide new insights for business development, such as how to increase turnover through digital marketing, sharing formulas for upscaling a business, or how to use social media to expand marketing reach;
Delivered further, the Entrepreneur Hub activity is also an effort carried out by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs to create entrepreneurs in the regions by developing an entrepreneurial ecosystem through optimizing the resources of stakeholders to synergize and work together, with the same goals and targets so that it has an impact on scaling up business actors and realizing established entrepreneurs, innovative and sustainable businesses.
