Singaraja – The Faculty of Law and Social Sciences or Fakultas Hukum dan Ilmu Sosial (FHIS) of the Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) also supports the improvement of various Law knowledge and skills needed by prospective Advocates to practice advocacy professionally. This support is shown through collaboration with the Indonesian Advocates Association or Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia (Peradi) by implementing Advocate Profession Special Education or Pendidikan Khusus Profesi Advokat (PKPA). This activity was officially opened by the National Leadership Council Dewan or Dewan Pimpinan Nasional (DPN) of the Peradi virtually, Friday (2/12/2022).
The 1st Vice Dean of FHIS Undiksha, Dr. I Nengah Swastika, S.Pd., M.Pd., who represented the Dean of FHIS Undiksha in his speech, he said that the University and Faculties within it held the mandate to develop Human Resources, and this PKPA was one form of concrete implementation. “This is our commitment to support quality improvement, especially for prospective advocates,” he said.
Delivered further by the Department head of Law and Citizenship, Dr. Dewa Gede Sudika Mangku, S.H., LL.M., PKPA Batch II was attended by 19 participants and also involved lecturers with the competence or abilities according to the needs of the workforce in their fields. The Coordinator of the Undiksha Law Study Program, Ni Putu Rai Yuliartini, S.H., M.H., also added that this PKPA involved professional practitioners as presenters. “Hopefully through activities that present professional educators and practitioners, it will be able to increase the competence and insight of the participants. So that later the participants are ready to explore the world of work as reliable and professional advocates,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman of the DPN for PKPA, H. Shalih Mangara Sitompul, S.H., M.H., who represented the General head of the Central Peradi DPN, also gave a speech and officially opened the event. He said PKPA Batch II was one of the media to create professional and competitive advocates. “This professional education will benefit the participants, so that they not only graduate as advocates, but get good achievements and become good lawyers, lawyers or navigators in the future,” he said.
It was emphasized that Peradi is an organization that has received international recognition, so it needs to be paid attention to by all participants and must be able to become a generator to show self-quality, and it all can be obtained from this education. This famous lawyer also appreciated the cooperation in implementing this professional education. He hopes that this activity can be carried out sustainably.
Meanwhile, the Committee head, Kadek Doni Riana, S.H., M.H., said that this PKPA is one of the spaces to increase the insights of prospective advocates to be used later as a support in carrying out advocate practice. This education will be conducted until January 8, 2023, online. There were several presenters in this activity, consisting of academics, practitioners, and law enforcers who have competence in their respective fields. (hms)
