Singaraja– Lecturer in Law, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held a Community Service (PkM) activity in Tajun Village, Buleleng Regency, Sunday (28/5/2023). This activity in collaboration with Notary I Kadek Dony Hartawan, SH., M.H. is in the context of building a law-aware village.
This service program targets the Kerthi Winangun Farmers Group, Yowana Eka Giri Kusuma (STT), along with Tajun Village officials. PKM team leader, Dr. Dewa Gede Sudika Mangku, S.H., LL.M explained that the implementation of this activity was based on the reality on the ground, namely that there were still many farmers who did not understand the written sale and purchase agreement for their crops. So far, transactions carried out have only been based on verbal agreements and are limited to being supported by receipts from buyers or middlemen. This has the potential to cause losses due to the lack of a strong agreement. “Other things that are still often found are underhanded practices or carried out without being based on agreement/contract legal documents. Such conditions make it seem that people do not pay attention to the importance of legal documents related to buying and selling,” he explained.
Through this PkM program, he hopes that the community and village will be aware of the law. Communities can understand the anatomy of the contract agreement, the legal basis of the agreement principle, the legal languages used in writing the contract agreement, as well as train partners’ skills in drafting a sale and purchase agreement/contract. This was specifically conveyed by Notary I Kadek Dony Hartawan who was also the source. “Through this, we want Tajun Village to become a law-aware village for the realization of a community legal culture based on Tri Hita Karana,” concluded Dewa Sudika Mangku.
