Singaraja- Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., Monday (10/2/2020) again gave awards to 25 journals that have been accredited by Sinta (Science and Technology Index). The journal consists of various fields of science, ranging from education, science, humanities, social sciences, economics, and technology.
Head of the Undiksha Journal Development Center, Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., explained that Undiksha already has 78 Sinta indexed journals out of a total of 120 journals owned, which means that there are still 42 journals that have not been Sinta indexed. “Undiksha has taken second place out of 12 Education Personnel Education Institutions (LPTK) under Semarang State University and is in 38th position nationally judging from the performance of the last 3 years,” he explained. In addition, the Sinta-indexed Undiksha journal has experienced a significant increase. However, starting in 2020, several journals will be handed over to faculties and postgraduates who already have human resources managing journals related to this field of knowledge.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., said that by increasing the publication of indexed journals, Sinta would be able to support university rankings, both at national and international levels. “We have to improve this achievement. Like our vision to become a superior university in Asia in 2045, we must be committed to building Undiksha,” he said.
The rector who was born in Nusa Dua also said that this award could trigger the enthusiasm of other lecturers to increase their publications. “Through this award we can increase the commitment of lecturers to work, especially to publish their work,” he said. Apart from that, Jampel also hopes that there needs to be an increase in quality so that it can enter Scopus. “For those who have entered Sinta three or two, I hope they can continue to Scopus,” he said.
