Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held a prayer at Parahyangan Campus on Tumpek Uye, Saturday (29/1/2022). This ceremony is a form of implementation of the Balinese people’s life order based on the local wisdom values of sad kertih in the new era of Bali.
At Tumpek Uye, Hindus worship the majesty of Ida Sang Hyang Widhi, Sang Hyang Shiva Pasupati who is called Rare Angon, the shepherd of all creatures in this universe. Besides that, it is also part of one of the traditions in Bali which has a moral message to always be friendly with nature and its contents.
The prayer was attended by the Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Administration, Finance and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., accompanied by the Head of the General Affairs and Finance Bureau, Ni Luh Wayan Yasmiati, S.H., M.Pd., and Institutional, Faculty and Postgraduate Leaders. Also present were a number of students.
This prayer went solemnly. On this occasion, it was also filled with the release of birds. Deputy Chancellor I Wayan Lasmawan conveyed that this prayer, apart from being an obligation for Hindus, was also a follow-up to instructions from the Governor of Bali regarding the Tumpek Uye Rahina celebration.
According to mutual expectations, continued Lasmawan, through this ceremony, the balance of nature can be built better in order to realize a new era of Bali. Delivered further, this ceremony is also in line with the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana which is the basis for realizing Undiksha’s vision to become a superior university in Asia in 2045. “And with every momentum of our institutional activities we always try to make the meaning of harmony really exist and be understood by all Undiksha residents,” he explained.
Apart from coinciding with Tumpek Uye, in the series of the 29th anniversary, Undiksha has also carried out environmental and nature care activities in the form of planting trees and releasing hatchlings. (hms)
