Singaraja- The Balingkang Confucius Institute is holding another activity to promote Chinese culture, namely the ‘Light Snow Solar Term’ on November 22, 2023. ‘Light Snow” is one of the 24 solar terms in the traditional Chinese calendar, marking the transition from late autumn to early winter. Usually falls around November 22nd. This term marks the time when the weather becomes colder, and light snow begins to fall in some areas. During this period, temperatures continue to fall, and the environment begins to freeze, leading to the possibility of light snowfall in some areas.
This activity was attended by 40 students from several Junior High Schools (SMP) in Buleleng. The participants were introduced to the Balingkang Confucius Institute in detail. Then participants were introduced to the 24 Chinese solar terms (Solar Term) as well as the art of cutting paper and making them directly. This activity also includes performances of blowing traditional Chinese musical instruments and Hulusi and Tai Chi sword performances. In the final activity, students were invited to try typical Chinese food, namely tang yuan and shaomai.
It is hoped that this light snow activity can be an educational space for participants and they can learn about traditional Chinese culture up close. The Balingkang Confucius Institute will continue to organize Chinese cultural activities with rich and varied content, building a broader cultural exchange platform and enhancing cooperative relations between China and Indonesia.
