Singaraja– Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has launched an internationalization program at home. Students from abroad come and go to join the program. They not only choose language classes but also get to know more about Balinese culture.
The program was attended by dozens of students from Europe. One of them is the practice of making cymbals, Tuesday (10/15/2019). Canang is a means of worship for Hindus. Even though it was his first time trying it, his enthusiasm was quite high and he seemed to really enjoy it. This program also has a special companion.
The Head of UPT Undiksha Language, Putu Ayu Prabawati Sudana, S.Pd., M.Hum explained that this program runs every week with a thematic pattern. Students are also introduced to canang philosophy and so on. “They also wear Balinese traditional clothes. This kind of program lasts eight weeks,” she said.
Apart from making canang, these students also took part in batik, cooking, dancing, and language classes. In addition, there is also an introduction to the environment, one of which is visiting tourist objects close to Undiksha. “Her enthusiasm to join this program. This is new for them,” she said.
Apart from Europe, Undiksha also accepts students from China who specifically study Indonesian. In addition, there are also ASEAN countries, such as Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia to take part in the Field Work Practice (PKL) and Field Experience Practice (PPL) programs. (hms)
