Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) received additional students receiving bidikmisi scholarships in 2018. This was socialized in the Ganesha III Rectorate room, on Wednesday (19/12/2018).
Head of the Academic, Student Affairs, Planning, and Cooperation Bureau (AKPK) Undiksha, Drs. I Wayan Ariasa said the additional number reached 200 people, divided into two stages. This amount is in accordance with the proposal from the University to the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti). Students are selected strictly, according to predetermined requirements. “The recipients are outstanding students, but are economically disadvantaged,” he said.
It was further stated that scholarship recipients with a nominal value of IDR 6 million per semester must have more abilities than other students. There must be achievements, both academic and non-academic. “Scholarship recipients must demonstrate achievements,” he stressed.
Before there were additions, the number of scholarship recipients for 2018 reached 381 people. In detail, 356 people for the general public and 25 people specifically for students from Lombok. Undiksha Chancellor, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., said that this university which already has a Faculty of Medicine continues to strive for an increase in the scholarship quota. Not only bidikmisi, but also others, such as from universities, banks, and chancellors. “With this scholarship, we want students to be able to continue their education. It doesn’t break up,” he concluded. (hms)
