Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) carries the vision of becoming a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045. To make this happen, optimizing research is one of the strategies taken.
Undiksha Chancellor, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd said that many lecturers at the largest university in North Bali have conducted research in various fields. It’s just that the output is still not optimal. In response to this, a comprehensive evaluation was carried out. “Research carried out by Undiksha, especially from faculty, postgraduate and university funds, must produce output that supports the quality of higher education. What this means is, that if he (the lecturer) only produces research reports, or maybe the output doesn’t support it, we will evaluate it. “Is it by increasing funds or something else,” he said after the leadership meeting in the Ganesha I Room of the Rectorate, on Thursday (8/11/2018).
The Chancellor from Badung Regency also encouraged research results to be published in reputable journals, resulting in copyright and patent rights. “This is what institutions can use to improve grades,” he stressed. Regarding research funds, according to the provisions, 15 percent of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) must be allocated. We continue to strive to fulfill this every year. “We are also trying to get funding from DRPM Dikti. “This must also be supported by increasing the amount of research that can be accepted at both national and international standards,” he said.
Apart from being funded by institutions, in 2019, Undiksha is also trying to increase collaboration with local governments in research. This not only targets the Bali area but also outside areas. “So far there has been cooperation, including the regional governments in NTB and NTT. But not all there is activity yet. “In terms of human resources, Undiksha is actually not inferior to other universities,” explained Jampel.
Optimization of research, including the results, and coaching of lecturers are also intensified. This has also been coordinated with the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM). “The IT system for monitoring research performance must also be strengthened,” he added.
