Singaraja– The Faculty of Sports and Health (FOK) Undiksha again held the Undiksha Run, Sunday (18/9/2022) morning. The sport, which started and finished at the Undiksha Central Campus Football Field, was attended by hundreds of participants from various backgrounds and from various regions.
The distance for this sport is 5 kilometers by taking the route in the middle of Singaraja City. The enthusiasm of the participants, which consisted of the student category and the male and female general categories, was evident from the start. Everyone started and finished well.
The Dean of FOK Undikha, I Ketut Budaya Astra, S.Pd., M.Or., and his staff also participated in this event to the finish. On the sidelines of the event, he conveyed that this activity was to introduce FOK Undiksha to the public. Apart from that, it is also to socialize sports and exercise the community. “Exercise is the spearhead of personal health,” he said.
Delivered further, the choice of running is none other than because it is classified as a sport that is cheap, lively, and mass. “This means without spending a lot of money and being able to take part in this activity well,” he said.
He welcomed the enthusiasm of the participants to take part in this activity, especially since there were participants from outside the district and even national athletes who also took part. In the future, he hopes that this kind of event can be held regularly by Undiksha with participants from the Undiksha academic community. “This activity was discussed with the Chancellor when he released this activity three years ago, this activity will be used as an activity at the university level,” he continued.
One of the participants, Nia Ivana, welcomed this sporting event. He who claims to be a lover of running is the first time he has joined an event to enliven the FOK Celebration. Going forward, he hopes to continue to follow. “If there’s more, I’ll definitely join,” she said.
Another participant, Komang Wahyu Suharta also admitted that he was very happy to take part in the Undiksha Run. He who won first place in the student category hopes that this event can continue. To note, Undiksha Run was held for the first time three years ago. Its subsequent implementation was then delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Apart from running, the FOK Celebration was filled with a Zumba party which was attended by lecturers and students. This activity is also at the same time to strengthen the sense of family. (hms)
