The exhibition of PLACE, International Student Drawing Exhibition had been officially opened at Buleleng Port Museum (23/10). This event was attended by 90 participants from 8 renowned universities that consisted of 7 universities from Indonesia and 1 university from America. Those universities were State University of Medan, State University of Gorontalo, ISI Surakarta, Art Institute of Jakarta, State University of Jogyakarta, State University of Semarang, Ganesha University of Education and the University of Pennsylvania.
Hardiman as the curator of this exhibition stated that It was the first event that had been conducted in ASIA. This PLACE exhibition was intended to accommodate all of students’ representation regarding the theme that refer to the concept of Michael Foucault which was about the intersection of space and power. It was expected that through this exhibition, it would be able to accommodate the artist’s artistic creativity.
Undiksha Rector, represented by Vice Rector IV, Drs. I Wayan Suarnajaya, M.A., Ph.D. in his speech, delivered his congratulations and thanks to Art Education Department, Faculty of Language and Art for being able to organize an international level event in the field of painting. The opening of the international exhibition was officially opened through the cutting of the ribbon at the entrance of the museum by the Undiksha Rector represented by the Vice Rector IV and accompanied by the Dean of Faculty of Languages and Arts, Prof. Dr. Putu Kerti Nitiasih, M.A. and the Head of Visual Art Department, Undiksha, Drs. I Gede Eka Harsana Koriawan, M.Erg. Then the invitees and participants entered the exhibition area and began to imagine the amazement paintings on the wall.
