Singaraja- Dozens of graduates of the D-3 Midwifery Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) took part in the Oath and Pledge of Midwives, Wednesday (24/11/2021). Through this, all of them are required to become midwives who are professional and adaptive to change.
This event took place at the Undiksha Auditorium. The oath-taking of 82 graduates who will be graduating on November 26 2021 was carried out by the Chairperson of the Bali Provincial Association of Indonesian Midwives (IBI), Luh Putu Sukarini, SST., S.E., M.M., M.Kes. On this occasion, the Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation of Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I.
In her remarks, Luh Putu Sukarini expressed her appreciation to Undiksha who had struggled to produce midwifery experts. She hopes that these graduates will be able to provide professional services to the community. In addition, they must also comply with the code of ethics and morals. “I ask these graduates to maintain the philosophy of midwifery and adhere to existing regulations,” she said.
She further stated, entering the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, the challenges that will be faced are increasingly complex and very vulnerable to change. This is expected to be anticipated by graduates by continuing to develop competence. “What is studied is not only midwifery. But also others, including information technology,” she added.
In particular, she invited these prospective midwives to continue struggling to deal with maternal and child health issues, especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Apart from that, he is always present in providing education to the community, especially regarding the Family Planning program.
Deputy Chancellor, Gede Rasben Dantes said that in order to face increasingly fierce competition, graduates need to continue to develop competencies. More than that, they also have to have critical thinking, collaboration, communication, character, compassion, and computational thinking skills. “The current era is changing fast and also full of ambiguity. Therefore, I invite all to continue to improve the competence, “he said.
The Deputy Chancellor from Badung Regency also invited people to apply knowledge in society in a professional manner and become good public servants and be able to work with heart. (hms)
