Singaraja- Chancellor of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., appointed the Chair and Secretary of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) and the Institute for Learning Development and Quality Assurance (LPPPM) for the 2020-2024 period, Tuesday (23/6/2020).
In accordance with the decree, the position of Chair of the LPPM was again entrusted to Prof. Dr. I Gede Astra Wesnawa, M.Sc., who had served in the previous term. While the Secretary held by Dr. I Made Sugiarta, M.Sc. Meanwhile, the Chairman of LPPPM was entrusted to Prof. Dr. I Made Ardana, M.Pd., who previously served as secretary of LPPPM. Meanwhile, the position of secretary was entrusted to Dr. I Gusti Lanang Agung Parwata, S.Pd., M.Kes., who previously served as Head of Undiksha’s Career Development and Student Entrepreneurship Unit (PKKM).
In his direction, the Chancellor of Jampel said these two institutions were the driving wheels of the University. Therefore, it is hoped that there will be breakthroughs and innovations that are born, such as initiating groups of scientific fields that can produce quality and innovative research, and can publish them in credible scientific journals. This is one of the indicators that can increase university competitiveness. “I also have high hopes for synergy between LPPM and LPPPM in enriching academic activities, such as conducting research sharing, book Review, joint research and publication, and other activities that can strengthen academic relations among the academic community,” he explained.
He further conveyed, the breakthroughs and innovations that were rolled out also cannot be separated from the Chancellor’s performance contract with the Minister of Education and Culture. The contract involves increasing the number of excellent study programs, increasing university rankings, increasing lecturer qualifications for doctorates, increasing international publications, intellectual property, industrial prototypes, and other innovative products. Realizing this, the new leadership was asked to walk together in the same direction. “I will not be able to work alone to make it happen. And I’m sure, no one person can realize this big goal without the cooperation of all of us. All of us have our respective roles, with our respective duties and functions, so that harmonization is formed which is beautiful to look at, melodious to listen to, and comfortable to feel. That is the importance of a collaboration between us,” said the Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency.

Undiksha has taken steps for this and needs to continue to be perfected,” he said. In particular, the Chancellor of Jampel appreciated the performance of the LPPM and LPPPM leaders in the previous period. Various breakthroughs and innovations have been made. As is the case with the number of scientific publications handled by LPPM which tends to increase. Likewise, community service whose scope is increasingly broad. Meanwhile, at LPPPM, it has built an academic climate through learning development, curriculum, and quality assurance. Apart from that, he has also initiated and developed many activities in order to realize what I have planned through the Internationalization at Home program in 2019. “I hope that the newly appointed friends will not stop at routine. But we can continue to contribute and contribute ideas for the development of this university in the future and accelerate Undiksha to excel in Asia,” Jampel continued.
Confirmed separately, the Head of LPPM, Astra Wesnawa, stated his commitment to translating the Rector’s directives concerning research and community service. “In the previous period, we have carried out various studies and formed a research group. Community service has also extended outside Bali. We will continue to improve this so that what the Chancellor hopes for can be realized more quickly, “he said.
