Singaraja– Deputy Deans of six faculties within the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) were appointed by Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd in the Rectorate’s Ganesha III Room, Tuesday (10/15/2019). These officials are required to produce innovations that can increase the competitiveness of institutions.
The inauguration was made for the Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Sports and Health, Faculty of Engineering and Vocational, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Education, and Faculty of Languages and Arts. Most of the officials are new faces, replacing previous officials. “I also convey my congratulations to the newly appointed Deputy Deans,” said the Chancellor of Jampel.
After the inauguration, all of them were asked to work immediately, continuing programs that were still pending. It is no less important to maintain and continue to foster a conducive campus atmosphere, develop an academic atmosphere, and continue to produce the best research and innovation works that can benefit and be directly felt by the community. “Increasing the acquisition of publications both nationally and internationally in order to support the achievement of the competitiveness of this institution or nation. I hope that all activities that are designed and implemented in each faculty must refer to the 9 accreditation criteria, clustering of higher education institutions, and the Chancellor’s performance contract with the Minister,” he explained.
According to the Chancellor who was born in 1959, various challenges and opportunities will be faced in the future to increase the competitiveness of institutions. Namely, maintaining or increasing university accreditation including increasing the accreditation of each study program towards international accreditation. There is also strengthening and increasing the quality of institutional governance that is more effective and efficient, strengthening and increasing the quality and quantity of research, community service, and scientific publications, both in indexed international journals and accredited national journals. “Likewise, improving the quality of the teaching and learning process to produce qualified and competitive graduates as well as increasing student participation in competitions,” he said.
Optimizing cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions that are able to contribute to the development of institutions and on the basis of benefits for the entire academic community, according to him, also needs to be a serious concern. Although at this time it is already running, and the number is increasing. Entering the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, the role of technology and information in building institutions is also considered appropriate to be maximized. “This is what this new official needs to address. There must be innovation that is born, “he said. In the midst of an era of disruption, the vice deans need to implement performance that is characterized by the 4.0 industrial revolution, namely critical, creative, communicative, and collaborative. No less important again must have a character. “These five Cs must be implemented,” he added.
On that occasion, thanks and highest appreciation were also conveyed to the previous vice dean who had completed his term of office. It is hoped that support for institutional development can continue. “We still need his support, even though we are no longer serving as Deputy Dean,” added Jampel.
