Singaraja- The Head of the Department and Secretary of the Department at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) were appointed by the Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., in the Rectorate’s Ganesha III Room, Wednesday (11/13/2019). These structural officials are required to be creative and innovative, so as to create a better institution.
Institutional development, according to the rector from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency must prioritize the stigma of thinking, behaving, acting, and communicating based on the noble values of harmony in all its dimensions. “I believe that with meaning and harmony, everything will work as the axis of rotation of the sun and the earth in their respective axes so that the continuity of world life is maintained,” he said.
Leadership values that are based on and inspired by harmony, he continued, are the main keys to bringing Undiksha to achieve and declare achievements. He emphasized that so far there have been many efforts and achievements that have been achieved by this largest public university in North Bali. However, this is seen as insufficient to make the institution one of the leading and superior higher education institutions in the world context in the current era of disruption. “For this reason, I again remind and invite all of us, especially those of us who were appointed today and given more trust to participate in managing and making this institution better, so I emphasize let’s tighten the knots of achieving achievements for the institution, not for themselves, groups, especially for other people outside the institution,” he said.
Realizing this, the entire academic community must always prioritize creative thinking patterns to innovate, be aspirational to build productive collaborations, have cooperative behavior to be creative and make creative behavior an achievement habit. “Through the development and habituation of these four things, I believe, the achievements and degrees of the institution that has become our second home will be realized,” said the former Vice Chancellor II of Undiksha.
As the stages of Undiksha’s development have often been echoed, as many as 16 Heads of Departments and the Secretary of the Department are encouraged to carry out all forms of programs and activities which always refer to six main things, namely the five national development priority scales, the seven main pillars of the Kemenristekdikti Strategic Plan, nine standards of BAN-PT, two indicators of higher education clustering, the chancellor’s performance contract with the minister, and finally Undiksha’s business plan and budget. “This is important to be understood and guided by all members of Undiksha, especially those who have positions as regulators and policymakers. Because the ranking and achievements of Undiksha’s excellence can only be achieved when institutional programs and activities refer to and support these six things properly and truly realized,” he emphasized.
Currently, Undiksha has entered the final stage of the fiscal year and will soon enter a new budget year and program, for this reason, the Chairperson and Secretary of the Department as the lowest institutional managerial spearhead in accordance with Undiksha’s OTK, are asked to be observant and careful to propose programs and activities in work meetings or rakorbang conducted in each Faculty. This is one of the strategies to make Undiksha superior and accomplished. “My hope is that with inadequate PNBP, we will be able to produce programs and achievements that surpass other institutions with higher PNBP. This means that thinking, behaving, behaving in the preparation of the program must be able to make the program effective by producing outcomes that boost the quality and achievements of Undiksha,” continued Jampel.
It is also emphasized that the preparation of the program must fulfill the elements of accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness, and produce outcomes. “This is something that really needs to be looked at,” he concluded. Meanwhile, the Head of the Management Department of the Faculty of Economics, Dr. I Nengah Suarmanayasa, S.E., M.Sc., stated his commitment to follow the Rector’s directions. He also saw that until now, especially in his department, there were still a number of things that needed to be improved. “Like the implementation of activities, there are those who have not fully referred to the six things that were conveyed by the Chancellor. Of course, we have to follow up on this,” he said. (rls/hms)
