Singaraja– As a series of the 28th Anniversary, Ganesha University of Education through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) carried out social services in Baktiseraga Village, Buleleng District, Thursday (14/1/2021). This activity was filled with the handing over of one hundred biopori as one of the efforts to deal with flooding. In addition, a number of trash bins were also handed over.
The handover was carried out symbolically to the Bekel Head, I Gusti Putu Armada, and continued with the installation at several points in the Village Head Office area. This social service is highly appreciated because Undiksha is also present in dealing with problems in the community. “We appreciate Undiksha’s activities,” said Gusti Armada.
He further conveyed that in recent years, biopori installations have been quite intensive, especially in flood-prone areas. In addition, drainage improvements were also carried out in a number of locations. “We have made various efforts to anticipate flooding. There is also drainage improvement from the government,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of LPPM Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Gede Astra Wesnawa, M.Sc., said that the implementation of this activity was a form of implementing Higher Education’s Tri Dharma in terms of community service. Apart from that, it is also a form of implementing the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in terms of weakness. “This is a routine activity that we carry out as a series of Anniversary,” he said accompanied by the Community Service Team and the Anniversary Committee.
On that occasion, this academic from Badung Regency emphasized that the actions carried out by Undiksha were only as a support. It is hoped that the village community can take similar steps on an ongoing basis so that the handling of environmental problems will be faster. (hms)
