Singaraja– Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) already has a Professional Certification Institute (LSP). This institution conducted an assessment of 75 students in December 2020. This is the first step for students to obtain competency certificates as provisions when they enter the world of work.
The Director of LSP Undiksha, Trianasari, M.M., Ph.D., Wednesday (30/12/2020) explained that the assessment was carried out for housekeeping, catering, serving, and front office. The program participants, which have been taking place since December 22, 2020, come from the D3 English, PKK, and D3 Hospitality study programs. “The administrative requirements are that participants attach a KTP, attach a training certificate if they have and a study result card if they haven’t been trained,” she explained.
The results of this assessment, he continued, will become the basis for the assessor team to provide recommendations on whether or not the participants are competent in each field. If competent, then LSP will apply for a competency certificate from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). This certificate is valid for three years. So when in the industry, students or alumni will be more confident, because this competency certificate is actually not only a companion to a diploma, now competency certificates are more needed,” said the academic who is affectionately called Nana.
Based on the results of her observations, in general, the competence of the participants was quite good. This is inseparable from the experience gained previously, both in practice in lectures and from the industry. On this occasion, it was emphasized that LSP Undiksha was in the P1 category, which according to the provisions was only permitted to carry out assessments of the students themselves. As for alumni, they are still allowed for the last three years. “But for alumni who have taken an assessment with Undiksha and received a certificate, after three years they may no longer be with Undiksha,” she said. For this reason, his party is developing a collaboration with LSP P3, so that the competency test site at Undiksha can be used for alumni.
One of the participants, Komang Darma Suyadnya, appreciated the existence of this institution because it was able to provide space to accelerate the implementation of assessments. “Certificates (competence, red) are a plus point when entering the industry. With this assessment it is very good, “he said. He also admitted that he still made maximum preparations before taking the assessment. (hms)
