Singaraja- Dozens of students from the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) will immediately leave for Abroad to carry out the Field Work Practice (PKL) and Field Experience Practice (PPL) programs. For this reason, those from various study programs were given leadership briefing and training, on Tuesday (30/7/2019). The activity which was packaged through an outbound in Menyali Village, Buleleng Regency was also to galvanize physical and mental readiness. This was conveyed by the Head of the Undiksha Learning Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LPPPM), Prof. Dr. AAIN. Marhaeni, M.A.
This academic from Klungkung explained that the students departed gradually from August to September 2019 to a number of universities spread across Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia. They will later meet many people from various countries. Therefore it is important to provide debriefing, including it related to cross-cultural understanding. “This defense is very important because the contents include messages and orientation on how they are when they are abroad. They met a lot of people from various countries,” she said.
Delivered further, through outbound, students are given an understanding of collaboration, empathy, sympathy, living in groups, tolerance, and how to understand the importance of the presence of other people in their lives. “The hope is that through this, students are really ready mentally and physically to do PPL and PKL,” she said.
Based on the results of the selection, there were 65 students who passed the program. It was stated, the number of registrants reached 268 people. Seeing the interest that tends to increase every period, Undiksha continues to strive to develop cooperation with a number of universities in other countries. This Foreign PKL and PPL program, continued Marhaeni, is not only to add to student experience but as part of the internationalization at home that has been announced by the Chancellor in 2019. Apart from dispatching, Undiksha also accepts PKL and PPL programs for students from abroad. “The universities that were invited to collaborate also sent students to Undiksha. It’s been running. In essence, we want to provide the maximum experience for students,” he added. One of the students, Ni Wayan Ernis Murdiani, responded positively to this activity because she believed it would provide important benefits as provisions when she graduated from higher education. “Parents also support to participate,” she said.
