Curiosity about the process of establishing the Medical Faculty (FK) of Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) did not only arise from Surabaya State University (Unesa). But also Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (UMRAH), Riau Islands. This was demonstrated by a visit on Monday (26/11/2018).
His presence along with a number of staff, the Chancellor of UMRAH, Prof. Dr. Syafsir Akhlus, M.Sc., said that so far the university he leads only has five faculties. His party plans to open a FK. “From that, we want to know the process of its establishment. “Because Undiksha already existed,” he said. Not only that, his first visit to the largest university in North Bali was also to dig up information regarding the status of the Public Service Agency. “We want to know how the process works. “We are also preparing for that,” he explained.
It was stated that Undiksha was chosen as a place for comparative studies because it has a character that is not much different from UMRAH. In terms of age, there is not much difference. Apart from that, they both also have educational science faculties. “UMRAH only became public in 2011. Previously it had been private since 2007. We feel that the things we face are not much different from Undiksha,” he added.
Deputy Chancellor II Undiksha, Prof. Dr. Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., who received the visit, stated that the FK’s establishment is the same as other faculties, namely that Human Resources (HR) must be prepared, especially teaching staff and facilities and infrastructure. More important than that, according to him, is mutual commitment. “Commitment is important. Everyone must support it,” he explained.
It was also stated that its establishment required a fairly long process. A lot of time, thought and energy is wasted. “Starting from the proposal proposed to the Ministry, it must also be thoroughly prepared. “This also includes the budget side,” he explained. Meanwhile, specifically, to become a BLU, it is stated that universities must be able to generate income independently. “Undiksha has generated income from several types of businesses which are handled specifically by the management body,” added this academic from Bonyoh Village, Kintamani District, Bangli.
The reception reception was also attended by Vice Chancellor III, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pujawan, M.Kes., Deputy Chancellor IV, Drs. Wayan Suarnajaya, M.A., Ph.D., Head of the General and Financial Bureau, Ni Luh Wayan Yasmiati, S.H and Head of Student Affairs and Public Relations, Drs. I Ketut Surya Panca.(hms)
