Identity

Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha ‘Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha’ hereinafter referred to as Undiksha is a university which is responsible to the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Higher Education, and is located in Singaraja, Bali Province.

Undiksha was established on 11 May 2006 based on the President Decree of the Republic of Indonesia No. 11 of 2006 concerning the Change  of the State Institute of Teacher Training Singaraja ‘Institut Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Negeri (IKIP Negeri) Singaraja’ into Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha ‘Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha’ (Undiksha).

The symbol of Undiksha is Ganesha with the motto "Dharmaning Sajjana Umerdhyaken Widyaguna", means that the duty of Educated people is applying knowledge and characters.

  It is the symbol of Undiksha. It consists of several parts, such as:

  1. A frame with the basic elements of a pentagon (blue base color, white inner edge, and the golden outer edge).
  2. Lord Ganesha.
  3. Lord Ganesha's seat is decorated with lotus.

This symbol has meanings:

  • The frame with the basic elements of a pentagon (blue base color, white inner edge, and golden outer edge) shows the basic state and philosophy of Republic of Indonesia.
  • Inside the frame, there are several parts, includes:
  • Lord Ganesha:
    • manifested as an elephant-headed human, has chubby body, wide ears, tusks flanking the trunk, the right tusks is broken end;
    • Lord Ganesha has four hands. On the right hands, they bring genitri and broken tusk, while the two left hands are carrying an axe and a bowl containing modaka.
  • Lord Ganesha's seat is decorated with lotus.
  • A text of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha is above the Lord Ganesha image and a text of “Undiksha” is at the bottom of the lotus, stands for Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha.

The image referred to in point 2 above has the following meanings.

  1. Lord Ganesha is a symbol of knowledge, education and wisdom, as well as understanding intelligence.
  2. Wide elephant ears are a symbol of the ability to listen to information, then process it with intellectual intelligence to produce knowledge.
  3. The trunk is a symbol of the application of knowledge in the form of technology that is useful for human life.
  4. The trunk sucking modaka in a bowl means an incessant and inexhaustible effort to absorb science, technology, art and culture that is applied for human life.
  5. The chubby body is a symbol of the application of science, technology, and art for the prosperity and welfare of mankind.
  6. A distended stomach symbolizes the ability to maintain peace so that humans can respond to life experiences that are both beneficial and detrimental in a proportional and sustainable manner.
  7. Sitting cross-legged is a symbol that scientists must be calm, diligent, reflective, contemplative, and have foresight without ignoring past experiences and present conditions.
  8. Seat decorated with lotus means that in exploring and applying science, technology, and art, academic society have to keep up the principles of right and wrong, good and bad, and their benefits for human life, as well as the principle of purity.
  9. The top eleven petals of the lotus flower symbolize the eleventh day; and the lower five lotus flowers symbolize the month of May according to the date and month of the Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia concerning the Change of the STKIP Negeri Singaraja becomes Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha.
  10. The four hands are a symbol of the omnipotence of science, technology, and art that are able to achieve the four directions.
  11. The modaka as a symbol of leadership, the axe as a symbol of technology, the genitri/tasbih as a symbol of spiritual knowledge, the broken tusk as a symbol of the pen in the field of science, the lotus as a symbol of purity and wisdom.

Undiksha has a flag as its marker. It has light blue color based, with ratio for length:height is 3:2 . In the middle you will find the symbol of Undiksha.  

The flags of the Faculties and the postgraduate program are rectangular with ratio of 3:2, with different basic colors, in the center there is the symbol of Undiksha.

  • The flag of the Faculty of Educational Science (FIP) has a white base color. It has Undiksha logo in the center and under the logo, there is a text “FAKULTAS ILMU PENDIDIKAN” showing the faculty’s name. The following image is a flag of the Faculty of Educational Science.

 

  • The flag of the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) has a yellow base color. It has Undiksha logo in the center and under the logo, there is a text “FAKULTAS BAHASA DAN SENI” showing the faculty’s name. The following image is a flag of the Faculty of Language and Arts.

 

  • The flag of the Faculty of Mathematics and Nature Science (FMIPA) has a green base color. It has Undiksha logo in the center and under the logo, there is a text “FAKULTAS MATEMATIKA DAN ILMU PENDIDIKAN ALAM” showing the faculty’s name.   • The flag of the Faculty of Law and Social Science (FHIS) has a sky-blue base color. It has Undiksha logo in the center and under the logo, there is a text “FAKULTAS HUKUM DAN ILMU SOSIAL” showing the faculty’s name. The following image is a flag of the Faculty of Law and Social Science.

 

  • The flag of the Engineering and Vocational Faculty (FTK) has a dark-blue base color. It has Undiksha logo in the center and under the logo, there is a text “FAKULTAS TEKNIK DAN KEJURUAN” showing the faculty’s name. The following image is a flag from the Engineering and Vocational Faculty

 

  • The flag of the Faculty of Sports and Health (FOK) has a dark-red base color. It has Undiksha logo in the center and under the logo, there is a text “FAKULTAS OLAHRAGA DAN KESEHATAN” showing the faculty’s name. The following image is a flag from the Faculty of Sports and Health.

 

  • The flag of the Faculty of Economics (FE) has an orange base color. It has Undiksha logo in the center and under the logo, there is a text “FAKULTAS EKONOMI” showing the faculty’s name. The following image is a flag from the Faculty of Economics.
