Undiksha’s Vision:

Becoming an Excellent University Based on the Philosophy of Tri Hita Karana in Asia in 2045

Vision is something that is strongly strategic and becomes the main reference and direction in implementing the Tridharma of Higher Education at Undiksha which includes: (a) education implementation and teaching, (b) research implementation, and (c) community service implementation.

Undiksha’s vision has a fundamental meaning that comes from the words of “Excellent, Philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, and the year of 2045″.

  1. Superior, means that the superiority that Undiksha expects to have in Asia as a state university are seen from three indicators, namely competitive, characterized, and collaborative.
    • Competitive means that Undiksha develops human resources, science and technology that are able to compete in creating and filling job opportunities based on knowledge and skills developed at Undiksha. As a competitive indicator in 2045, Undiksha is included as the best college QS version (Quacquarelli Symonds).
    • Characterized means that Undiksha develops human resources, science and technology that respect morality, humanity, and harmony. As an indicator of character in 2045: graduate user satisfaction related to integrity (ethics and morals) and alumni self-development in 100% exellent category and carry out systemic social activities in each study programs, due to the current condition of graduate user satisfaction is in the execellent category of 81% and there are 9 systemic social activities in the Faculty/Postgraduate and University. Tridharma of College related to character reaches 44% for lectures, 75% for research and 75% for community service, from the total of research activities and community service. Based on the conditions in the last 3 years, namely the implementation of lectures related to character has reached 19% of the total mandatory credits per study program, research related to character is 7.97% (93 titles), community service is related to character as much as 6.30% (33 title).
    • Collaborative means that we work together synergistically therefore an increase in added value is obtained for individuals and for joint efforts to improve organizational (institutional) performance. As a collaborative indicator in 2045, the number of international cooperation is 109 and domestic cooperation is 239, this is determined based on data from the last 3 years that there are 214 domestic cooperation and 34 foreign cooperation; the percentage of publications in reputable international journals reaches 80%, the number of citations is 8,000 based on data from the last three years (2015, 2016, and 2017) there are 1,010 citations from 628 articles.
  1. The Tri Hita Karana philosophy is a philosophy of life coming from the Balinese people which contains 3 (three) elements that build balance and harmony in the relationship between humans and God, humans and humans, and humans and the environment which is a source of welfare, peacefulness, and happiness for human life. The relationship with God can be done by carry out prayers and being grateful for everything that is obtained in life, especially science and technology that obtained through the education and learning process at Undiksha. Human relations can be built through the development of compassion, tolerance, mutual respect, and mutual care for one another. Currently, Undiksha as the only university in Bali whose students are predominantly Hindu that has mushala. The number of students who are Muslim at this time (academic year 2017/2018) is 23.86% of the total students. This is a form of tolerance between religious communities, as well as a form of harmonious relationship between humans and God. Human relations with the environment can be done by maintaining the surrounding environment to keep it clean, conducive, and sustainable then to provide positive inspiration for attitudes and daily behavior. Based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, human resources, science and technology that built in Undiksha always uphold the values ​​of God, human values, and environmental conservation values ​​to improve welfare, peacefull, and harmony.
  2. The year of 2045 is the time frame of the age of “Golden Indonesia.” In 2045, Indonesia will get a demographic bonus, namely 70% of Indonesia’s population is in productive age (15-64 years old), while the remaining 30% is unproductive population (under 14 years old and above 65 years old) at the period of 2020-2045. Indonesia must be able to create superior quality of young people who are able to answer the challenges of the times towards 100 years of Indonesia. The Golden Generation must be carried out by all elements of society, especially educational institutions that play an important role in preparing future generations of Indonesia who have comprehensive intelligence, who are productive, innovative, peaceful in their social interactions, healthy, healthy in their natural interactions and superior civilized. Meanwhile, to achieve superiority in the Asian region, it is determined based on the current condition of Undiksha, where Undiksha is a state university that is developing rapidly so that superiority (competitive, characterized, collaborative, and cultured) will be achieved when Indonesia enters the Golden Age (100 years) in the Asian region.

 

Undiksha Mission:

  1. Organizing dignified education and teaching to produce competitive, collaborative, and characterized human resources.
  2. Organizing competitive, collaborative, and innovative research for the development and application of science and technology.
  3. Organizing community service that is competitive, collaborative, accommodating, and innovative.

 

Goals of Undiksha:

  1. Produce graduates who are able to compete with graduates from other universities in filling the job market.
  2. Produce graduates who are able to work together or in a team form in the workplace.
  3. Produce graduates who uphold the values ​​of divinity, humanity, and nature preservation in carry out their duties.
  4. Produce research works that are able to compete another research works that produced by the academic community of other universities.
  5. Produce research work that is carried out jointly with other academics and/or the community, both from within and outside Undiksha.
  6. Produce research work that has novelty.
  7. Produce community service work that able to compete with community service work carried out by other universities.
  8. Produce community service work that is carried out jointly between academics and/or employees, both from within and outside Undiksha.
  9. Produce community service work carried out at the request of the community.
  10. Produce community service works that have novelty.
  11. Produce national, regional and international cooperation that are mutually beneficial.

 

Undiksha Targets:

  1. Increasing the quality of the institutional governance system that are integrated, transparent, accountable, fair, and responsible based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy.
  2. Obtaining quality inputs and producing graduates (outputs) who have high competitiveness of entering the world of work, able to work together, and have values of divinity, humanity, and able to preserve the environment.
  3. Increasing quality human resources who are capable to meet Undiksha’s needs to become a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy.
  4. The creation of an adaptive curriculum that is able to meet the demands of the business and industrial world and the implementation of innovative, student-centered, information technology-based learning, as well as full bilingual and foreign language learning based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy.
  5. Availability of complete, quality, national and international standard facilities and infrastructure based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy.
  6. The realization of transparent, accountable and transparent financial management, as well as business units that are capable to produce generating avenues for Undiksha as a public service agency university.
  7. The production of competitive, innovative, and collaborative research work, both at the national, regional and international levels and the publication of research results in accredited national journals and reputable international journals based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy.
  8. The production of superior community service works that are able to improve the welfare of the community.
  9. Increased cooperation and partnerships at home and abroad that are mutually beneficial which can improve the process of education and teaching, research and publications, as well as community service.

Undiksha’s vision is to become a leading university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia in 2045. Based on this vision, Undiksha’s mission is described in the form of statements to be achieved. In Undiksha’s mission there are three statements made in as an effort to organize the Tridharma of Higher Education. To achieve the mission that has been set, Undiksha collaborates education and non-education fields to produce superior human resources in the academic, vocational, and professional fields that contribute to the nation’s competitiveness at the international level. Undiksha’s vision becomes a reference by the work units under Undiksha (Faculty, Postgraduate, Institutions, Departments, Study Programs, and work units within Undiksha). Undiksha’s vision and mission will have a strong influence on the academic community in their activities, which are related to 11 (eleven) goals and 9 (nine) targets that have been derived from Undiksha’s mission.
