Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) volunteers, Wednesday (14/11/2018) visited Tadulako University, Palu, Central Sulawesi which was also shaken by an earthquake some time ago. This also means coordinating the aid distribution and seeing firsthand the condition of the 248-hectare campus.
The visit was received directly by the Vice Chancellor III of Tadulako University, Prof. Dr. Djayani Nurdin, S.E., M.Si. Volunteers conveyed that the assistance collected from the rector’s ranks, staff, and lecturers had been distributed through the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. Even though the amount is not too large, it is hoped that it can lighten the burden carried.
For this matter, Prof. Djayani Nurdin welcomed it positively and appreciated the attention that had been given. This is seen as a form of inter-institutional concern to expedite the educational process. “We thank you,” he said.
The earthquake, he continued, damaged around 60 percent of campus buildings. They are light, medium and heavy. Some have even just been completed. He admitted that the learning process had stopped for several weeks. However, since November 5, it has gradually returned to normal. “Lectures are starting to return to normal,” he added. (hms)
