Students from the Mechanical Engineering Education Department, Engineering and Vocational Faculty (FTK) Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) have created an electric motor. This work is still being refined to get the best results.
This automatic motorbike was made by a student when he was in the fourth semester, which was part of his lecture assignment. It took six months to complete it with members of a group of 14 people. It also takes a lot of thought and energy to produce superior work. “Three months for planning. “There are three months left for production,” explained one of the students involved, Anak Agung Gede Windhu Gandhi Putra at the expo event at the FTK Campus, on Thursday (22/11/2018).
Some of the motorbike parts are made by yourself, such as the body frame. Some also use ready-made spare parts. Students just have to assemble according to the design. “There are several parts that we cannot make ourselves due to time constraints,” he said.
The motorbike, called Baby Ganesha, can now be operated, but the running distance is still short due to the low battery power. “We are still continuing to improve. Especially the battery power could be greater. Still preparing for recharging. “This motorbike has never been exhibited,” he explained. It is hoped that more of his work can be produced in the future. “We hope that this motorbike can support campus activities,” he added.
Apart from motorbikes, previously students also created an electric car called Ganesha Sakti (Gaski). Undiksha Chancellor, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., appreciated the work in the field of technology. It is hoped that there will be advantages offered, different from the work of students from other universities. “You must be able to offer any advantages of this work,” he stressed. (hms)
