Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is trusted by the central government as one of the organizers of Professional Education for Undergraduate Teachers Educating in Outermost, Frontier, and Disadvantaged Regions (PPG SM3T) and Pre-Service PPG. This program, which is being participated in by teaching staff from a number of regions in Indonesia, is part of increasing professionalism in the teaching and learning process. Deputy Chancellor I Undiksha, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Arnyana, M.Sc., emphasized this in a national seminar that took place at the Undiksha Main Seminar Building, on Thursday (13/12/2018).
Accompanied by Vice Chancellor III, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pujawan, M.Kes., an academic from Kemenuh, Gianyar hopes that after participating in this national program, educators of all ages can improve their careers, one of which is becoming Civil Servants (CPNS). “According to information, in 2019 there will be another opening for CPNS. Hopefully, these PPG participants can be absorbed without tests. “Because this program is funded by the government,” he explained.
Increasing scientific publications is also encouraged. This is not only important to support career advancement. It’s more basic than that to improve your quality. This encouragement is in line with the seminar theme. “Scientific publications are very important. “This needs to continue to be improved,” he said.
Currently, Undiksha has 22 fields of study approved for PPG. “This was assigned by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. “The minimum number of people taking part in PPG is 20 people, according to the group,” explained Arnyana previously. It is also hoped that through this the name Undiksha can become increasingly known to a wider audience. “After participating in PPG, Undiksha became the participant’s alma mater. “We hope that after returning, we can promote Undiksha too,” he hoped.
