Singaraja- Hundreds of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) students who had completed the Real Field Experience Practice (PPL) program for the even semester were returned by partner schools and the Buleleng Regency Education, Youth and Sports Office, Tuesday (19/3/2019). Students from various study programs must continue to increase their creativity and professionalism as prospective teaching staff. This was emphasized by Deputy Chancellor IV Undiksha, Drs. I Wayan Suarnajaya, M.A., Ph.D., accompanied by the Chair of LPPPM, Prof. Dr. AAIN. Marhaeni, M.A.
The Deputy Chancellor from Ped Village, Nusa Penida District, Klungkung Regency delivered the PPL program to improve teaching abilities, as well as foster astuteness and understanding of student behavior in the classroom. “Lectures are often limited to micro-teaching. “With PPL, you can teach real students,” he explained.
It was further stated that the PPL is only a small part of the provisions to face increasingly complex challenges. In order to increase competitiveness, students need to make efforts aimed at improving their abilities. “Students should not feel complacent. There are still initiatives to improve professionalism and personal abilities. I am sure that experience will be beneficial in the future to prepare you to become a professional teacher candidate. “This is also supported by increased creativity, especially in facing the industrial revolution 4.0,” he said.
Chief Executive of PPL, Dr. Dewa Bagus Sanjaya, M.Si explained that this program was attended by 310 students. They were deployed to 34 partner schools spread across five sub-districts in Buleleng Regency. “It’s in elementary school, middle school, high school, and vocational school for eight weeks,” he explained. These students, he continued, must take part in an orientation period, guided training, independent training, and exams. “According to the monitoring and evaluation results, nothing was found that would disrupt activities,” he added. Head of Teacher Development and Education Personnel, Buleleng Disdikpora, Putu Sriyasa appreciated implementing the PPL program. It is hoped that it will continue to run, including new programs aimed at improving the quality of education. (hms)
