Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) was the target of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Bus Roadshow, on Friday (26/7/2019). During this activity, an anti-corruption attitude was campaigned by KPK Advisor, Mohammad Tsani Annafari. He revealed that corruption is very vulnerable to power. As is the case, bribes in determining positions, arrangements in transferring positions, to the procurement of goods and services. “We need to be wary of using this power. What is licensing, and procurement of goods and services, including if there is infrastructure development, we will check. Is it true that it is in accordance with what was proposed? And most importantly we have to monitor the behavior of state administrators. Don’t let the regional heads be extravagant,” he said.
Anticipating this, there needs to be preventive measures, including by students who become academics. In fact, the movement must continue to be campaigned to the wider community and families. “We want to do prevention from an early age, especially among students who will become future leaders. They are not only competent in their fields. But they also have to have anti-corruption behavior,” he said.
Currently, according to him, public concern, both in terms of embodiment or representation in political choices, has not fully sided with corruption. Nor on the permissive attitude toward things that are corrupt in nature. “Society must be more proactive, not tolerate unlawful acts, one of which is corruption. Don’t let corruptors be re-elected. It could even become a regional leader, “he added.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., appreciated the KPK’s move to make the largest campus in North Bali the target of a roadshow. Through this, the understanding of the academic community regarding corruption can be increased. “From this, knowledge about the potential for corruption, and how to prevent it can increase. We appreciate this activity,” he said.
As an institution that has a role in producing superior graduates, Undiksha pays full attention to actions that violate the law. One of them is by accommodating courses related to corruption in the curriculum. “Undiksha has revised the 2016 curriculum to become the 2019 curriculum. Subjects related to corruption are accommodated here,” said the former Deputy Rector II of Undiksha. Financial governance, he added, is also online-based, prioritizing accountability, transparency, effectiveness, and efficiency. “By using the system, financial management can be monitored. This has been running at Undiksha and we will continue to maximize it,” he added. (hms)
