Singaraja– The strategic position has been occupied by Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd at Ganesha University of Education. The academic community has entrusted them as Chancellors for the 2015-2019 and 2019-2023 Periods. Prior to that, he also served as Deputy Chancellor II of Undiksha, Dean of the Faculty of Education. Previously, he was head of the department.
His career which was fairly successful had never been thought of before. What might not have been thought of was the matter of his education being able to reach the doctoral level and move on to professors. Traces of his life, the son of the couple I Wayan Pugir and Ni Made Sender was born October 10, 1959, ago in Banjar Celuk, Bualu Traditional Village, Badung Regency. In the place where he was born, the economic average of the population was very low. Roads, electricity, as well as PDAM water did not exist at that time. Residents’ houses still have thatched roofs, large walls, and dirt floors. However, he has an extraordinary passion for education. “I really like going to school. Even when in a difficult situation,” said Jampel, after launching a book entitled “Building with Togetherness”, at the Undiksha Auditorium, Thursday (10/10/2019).
Becoming number one at a public university in North Bali is not an easy job. He must prepare a strategy to make the institution better and more competitive, both at the national and international levels. This includes realizing Undiksha’s vision as a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia in 2045. What is targeted is believed to be achievable when done together. This has been cultivated since the beginning as a lecturer. “Building must be together. I already feel the result. Institutional accreditation can be A, because of togetherness. Likewise for study programs. This includes implementing other programs as well.
Togetherness, according to him, is not only relevant for the successful development of higher education institutions. But also for other places, both in government, including at the family level. “This togetherness is universal. Especially in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, collaboration is one of the things that must be had to be able to compete,” he added. (hms)
