Singaraia- Ganesha University of Education has again welcomed four students from Universite de La Rochelle (ULR), France who will study for six months. These foreign students were officially accepted in the event which was held in the Undiksha Rectorate Room Ganesha II, Monday (24/02/2020).
This program, which has been implemented since 2014, is a follow-up to the collaboration between Undiksha and ULR. Every year there are several students who come to study with a credit-earning scheme. They will take lectures in several study programs (Prodi).
Head of LPPPM Undiksha, Prof. Dr. A.A.I.N. Marhaeni, M.A., who was present at the reception, really appreciated the presence of this French student and had confidence in choosing Undiksha as a place to study for one semester. “I am very grateful to my younger siblings who have chosen Undiksha as a place to study from February to July 2020,” she said. On that occasion, she also hoped that students could interact with social life to get to know Balinese culture and art. “This student took 6 courses from 4 different study programs. So it can also be used to get to know Balinese culture,” she said. In addition, this academic from Klungkung Regency revealed that the arrival of these students was a challenge for Undiksha to provide services for foreigners, both from the field of education to facilities and infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Head of Undiksha’s Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (KUIK), Ni Nengah Suartini, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., said that there were many advantages to the presence of these students. “By coming to Undiksha, it will not only improve their ability to speak Indonesian and deepen their knowledge of Bali. But it also motivates Undiksha students and provides opportunities to interact with different cultures so as to give the impression of a more global campus,” she said. Asked about his hopes, this program could be even better. “Hopefully this program will continue and we can offer more attractive programs, by improvising and innovating. In addition, we hope that this program is not only for students from France but also from other universities around the world,” she concluded. (hms)
