Singaraja- Registration for new student admissions for the 2020/2021 academic year through the National Selection to Enter State Universities (SNMPTN) closed on 27 February 2020. However, high school/vocational high school/MA students still have the opportunity to register for the SBMPTN route, which begins with registering an LTMPT account. from 7 February – 5 April 2020, registration for the Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK) from 30 March – 11 April 2020, UTBK implementation from 20-26 April 2020, and the announcement of the results is scheduled for 12 May 2020. Meanwhile, SBMPTN registration takes place on 2-13 June 2020, and the announcement of the results of the selection 30 June 2020.
Apart from that, the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) also accepts students through the Joint Entrance Selection of the Independent Pathway (SMBJM), via the websitehttps://penerimaan.undiksha.ac.id. This pathway consists of special interests and talents for the D-3 program whose registration has been open from 3 February to 9 April 2019. There is also a Computer Based Test (CBT) for the S-1 and D-3 routes. Registration takes place from June 16 to July 17, 2020.
Like the previous news, Undiksha prepared a quota of 3,069 people. In detail, there were 374 D-3 students, 2,427 S-1 students, 245 S-2 students, and 23 S-3 students. Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd explained that the university he made does not only offer educational study programs, but also non-educational ones. Therefore, the output or graduates are not all prospective teachers. “Undiksha has 64 Study Programs spread across eight faculties. Most of them are non-educational. Undiksha has also had a Faculty of Medicine since 2018,” he explained.
As a tertiary institution that plays a role in improving the quality of human resources, the Chancellor of Jampel emphasized that Undiksha offers affordable education costs. In addition, they also received allocations for various types of scholarships, such as KIP College, banking scholarships, PPA, and district government scholarships. “We want people to be able to enjoy education. That’s why we try to offer affordable costs, “he continued.
In order to produce competent graduates, Undiksha has prepared a number of strategic programs. The curriculum is prepared according to the needs and demands, one of which is related to the industrial revolution 4.0. In lectures, students are encouraged not only to master the field according to the study program but also to have foreign language skills and master technology. “In an era like now, we have to act critical, creative, communicative, and collaborative. No less important is also character. This is what Undiksha cultivates to produce competitive graduates. Besides that, we also continue to improve campus infrastructure,” he said.
In the framework of competency development as well, Undiksha has rolled out programs in the form of foreign street vendors and PPLs in collaboration with a number of universities in Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand. In addition, in 2020, a fast-track program in collaboration with Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), Taiwan. The program is an effort to accelerate Undiksha students to obtain bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees. The implementation of this program is that for 3 years students will attend lectures at Undiksha and 2 years will do research (thesis) and master degree courses at MCUT.(hms)
