Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) distributed basic food assistance to students affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The assistance was symbolically handed over by Undiksha Vice Chancellor III, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., accompanied by his staff, Wednesday (29/4/2020).
There were 155 students who received assistance this time from all faculties. Students from various study programs come not only from Bali but also from outside Bali who cannot return to their hometowns. The disbursement of this assistance begins with data collection so that the distribution is right on target. “The assistance provided is in the form of groceries. There is rice, instant noodles, eggs, and cooking oil,” explained Suastra.
Delivered further, the distribution of this assistance was an effort to ease the burden on students, especially those from underprivileged families. “We hope this assistance can reduce the burden on students amid the Covid-19 situation,” he said. Assistance is planned to be distributed again. However, regarding the number of students who are targeted, data is still being recorded. “As of today, we plan to distribute assistance in three stages,” he added. One of the students, Exza Mesalin Kurni appreciated this assistance because it was able to lighten her load. “We responded positively because Undiksha pays attention to students,” he said.
In addition to the form of groceries, in supporting the online learning process, Undiksha provides internet data package assistance to students. In addition, previously donated personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical personnel who are at the forefront of handling Covid-19 in Buleleng district and distributed masks to the public. (hms)
