Singaraja – Ganesha University of Education received Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) assistance for handling Covid-19 from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture. This assistance was received via a shipping expedition, Friday (15/05/2020), which was then conveyed by Deputy Dean II of the Undiksha Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Ni Luh Kadek Alit Arsani, S.Ked., M.Biomed., to the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, Monday (18/05/2020).
The Chancellor of Jampel, who saw directly at the Jinengdalem Campus, explained that the assistance was in the form of 960 gowns, 500 pairs of boots, and 10,000 masks. This assistance is very much appreciated because it is very important to support efforts to tackle Covid-19. “This assistance will then be distributed to related parties who are directly involved in handling Covid-19. Soon we will design the distribution (PPE, ed) to related parties,” he said accompanied by the Head of Undiksha’s General Affairs and Finance Bureau, Ni Luh Wayan Yasmiati, S.H.
However, his party said that one of the aids was distributed to hospitals that already had a partnership with Undiksha, and did not rule out the possibility of other hospitals also handling cases of COVID-19 quite often. “Incidentally Undiksha has a collaboration with Mangusada Hospital, Wangaya Hospital, and Buleleng Regency Hospital. Which of these three hospitals is for practice which we call a teaching hospital? However, we do not rule out the possibility that we will distribute it to hospitals that really need this PPE,” said the Chancellor who was born in Nusa Dua.
Apart from giving appreciation, Jampel also hopes that this donation will be truly effective in preventing the spread of Covid 19 in Bali. “Thank you Mr. Minister and also the Secretary of the Director General of Higher Education for providing this assistance to Undiksha. Hopefully, with this donation, Undiksha through the assistance of the Ministry of Education and Culture can prevent and stop the spread of Covid-19 more quickly,” he concluded.
After monitoring, the Chancellor of Jampel also took the time to review the readiness of the Faculty of Medicine to carry out accreditation. “For accreditation, we encourage you to be prepared as best you can, as much as possible,” he concluded. (hms)
