Mangupura- In order to determine policy directions and future steps, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held a Program Coordination and Development Meeting (Rakobang) for the 2022 Fiscal Year Program. This activity was officially opened, Friday (4/12), at Sadara Boutique Beach Resort, Tanjung Benoa. The Rakorbang, which lasted until December 6, was attended by University leaders to faculty level leaders, the Undiksha BLU Supervisory Board, and invited the Head of the Ministry of Education and Culture Planning, Dr. Samsuri, S.Pd., M.T., representative of the Director of Resources of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, Representative from the Ministry of PUPR.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., during the opening of the Rakorbang, said that Undiksha continues to strive to improve quality in the future. Therefore, he hopes that the activities that will be carried out in 2022 will give color to the improvement and progress of the institution. Both activities at the study program, department, faculty, postgraduate, and university levels.
He emphasized that in 2022, Undiksha is targeted to become an International Reputable University in Education and Leadership (IRUEL). This target is also in line with his vision as rector in the second period (2019-2023), which is to make Undiksha a Trend-Setter University and an International Reputable University as well as Undiksha’s vision to Become an Excellent University Based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy in Asia in 2045. “In my opinion, we must always dream to motivate ourselves to always innovate, and always make changes for the better,” he said.
The Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency emphasized that programs other than the main targets also received attention and were followed up. Among them, are globalization and the quality of higher education, the challenges of higher education in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, as well as synchronization and institutional achievements. “This is what we have to make happen by also strengthening the togetherness that we have built for a long time,” he said.
The era of globalization and industrial revolution 4.0 has forced and motivated all tertiary institutions to improve and innovate in facing challenges and seizing opportunities. Undiksha is also expected to be able to answer these challenges, by continuing to increase competitiveness.
Meanwhile, Karo Planning Ministry of Education and Culture, Samsuri said that according to the direction of the Ministry of Education and Culture, universities are encouraged to become world-class universities. Undiksha which is very concerned in the field of education is expected to be able to make that happen. “We hope that Undiksha will have the best reputation in the field of world education, especially in terms of producing reliable educators,” he said.
Delivered further, in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture, in this case, the main performance indicators of tertiary institutions. Aspects of the quality of graduates, the quality of lecturers, then the quality of teaching and learning must also be improved. “As an example of how to produce graduates who are ready to face the market and the world of work. Of course, this is an indication, Undiksha must measure the degree of acceptance of its graduates in the world of work,” he emphasized. According to him, an effort to strengthen competitiveness and the targets set needs to be balanced with optimizing the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely education and teaching, research, and community service.
