Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) celebrates its 28th Anniversary, whose opening took place, Friday (8/1/2021). This momentum is expected to increase the enthusiasm of the academic community to work for a developed Indonesia and accelerate the realization of Undiksha’s vision.
The opening ceremony this time was packed simpler than the previous year, namely not filled with cultural performances to anticipate the crowd. In addition, it also strictly implements the Covid-19 prevention protocol. Specifically, competitions consisting of scientific competitions, sports competitions, and cultural arts competitions, are held online.
Chairman of the Committee, Dr. dr. Made Budiawan, S.Ked., M.Kes., AIFO., conveyed that this year’s Anniversary celebration had the theme “Undiksha works for Advanced Indonesia”. The hope is that even though the academic community is in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic which of course raises doubts, and creates uncertainty and fear, they are still able to maintain the enthusiasm to continue working. “What is different from the previous year, is that with conditions like this, almost all of the activities we carry out are online, both scientific and artistic competitions. Although there are several activities that we do blend, such as today’s opening. The opening of the event can be witnessed by the academic community via the YouTube channel simultaneously,” he explained.
Further explained, the highlight of the event will take place on January 16 2021 with an open session of the Undiksha senate, and on January 17 2021 it is planned to be filled with an evening of arts degrees. This academic from the Faculty of Medicine reiterated that the implementation of activities continues to prioritize the Covid-19 prevention protocol. “Of course, the health protocol is our main concern. And that is a must,” he added.
Meanwhile, Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, during the opening session, invited the academic community to make this Anniversary a venue for evaluating planned activities and programs as well as achievements that have been achieved in 2020. “Why do we have to look at what we have achieved, of course, we can plan more well in the following years,” he said.
In 2021, Undiksha continues to become an International Reputable University in Education and Leadership (IRUEL). All programs at the faculty and unit level must support this. “What has been compiled in a program that is not yet related to IRUEL, must be revised. And this has been done by each faculty and unit,” he said.
Delivered further, the program must also be able to accelerate the realization of Undiksha’s vision of becoming a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia in 2045. According to him, the designed program is also always supported together in a harmonious frame, working with living days. “With that, I’m sure we won’t reach 2045, but it could be earlier. My target is 2035 at the maximum. We have become a superior university based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana in Asia,” he said.
On that occasion, he specifically invited the academic community to keep moving forward, continuing to carry out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education even though the world was being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, it is hoped that the academic community will always be in good health. To realize this, Undiksha has anticipated the spread of Covid-19 by implementing online learning. (hms)
