Singaraja- The Covid-19 pandemic is showing no sign of abating. This phenomenon has triggered a downturn in various sectors, one of which is the economy. From this, the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) of the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) tries to ease the burden on society through sharing activities. This social action targeted a number of staff within the faculty, Thursday (5/8/2021).
Dean of FBS Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Made Sutama, M.Pd., explained that the assistance that was distributed was in the form of funds which were personal contributions from faculty leaders (Deans, Deputy Deans, Heads of Departments, Secretary of Departments, Heads of laboratories, Study Program Coordinators, and functional officials at FBS. “Aid we give it to the cleaning staff who work in the faculty on a daily basis,” he explained. Delivered further, this sharing activity is a form of moral responsibility to provide solutions to the problems caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. “This is also an effort to support steps handled by the government to ease the burden on the community,” he said.
Tri Hita Karana’s philosophy, in terms of pawongan, continued Prof. Sutama is also the basis for carrying out this activity. Besides that, it is also a form of implementing community service which is the dharma of higher education. “Tri Hita Karana is the foundation for realizing the vision of Undiksha and the faculty. This activity is a form of implementation. How can we establish good relations with each other, apart from God and the environment,” he said.
The assistance is admittedly not large. But hopefully, it can be useful for the recipient. It is also hoped that this pandemic will end soon. Realizing this, the FBS academic community is invited to always implement health protocols and be an example for the general public. “Hopefully the situation will return to normal soon,” he concluded.
