Singaraja- The Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FHIS) of the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) also supports the improvement of various legal knowledge and skills needed by prospective Advocates in order to carry out practicing advocates in a professional manner. This is demonstrated through collaboration with the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi) in the implementation of Advocate Profession Special Education (PKPA). This activity was officially opened via virtual, Friday (17/9/2021).
Deputy Dean I FHIS Undiksha, Dr. I Nengah Swastika, S.Pd., M.Pd., who represented the Chancellor of Undiksha in his remarks said that the university and its faculties hold the mandate to develop Human Resources (HR) and PKPA is one form of concrete implementation. “This is our commitment to support quality improvement, especially for prospective advocates,” he said.
Delivered further, this education which was the first time was attended by 25 participants and also involved lecturers who had the competence or abilities in accordance with the needs of the workforce in their fields. In addition, it also involves administrative staff at the faculty to expedite administrative processes. “Hopefully through this activity, competence and insight can be improved, so that later they can become professional advocates,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Central Peradi National Leadership Council (DPN), Prof. Dr. Otto Hasibuan, who also gave a speech, said that PKPA, which was implemented for the first time in the Singaraja District Court, was a medium for forming professional and competitive advocates. “This professional education will be beneficial for the participants, so that they don’t only graduate as advocates, but get good grades and become lawyers. lawyer or as a good navigator in the future,” he stressed.
It was emphasized that Peradi is an organization that has received international recognition. This needs to be paid attention to by all participants and must be able to become a generator to show self-quality and this is one of the things that can be obtained from this education. On this occasion, this famous lawyer also expressed his appreciation for the cooperation in implementing this professional education and hoped that it could be carried out in a sustainable manner.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Committee, Kadek Doni Riana, S.H., M.H., revealed that this PKPA is one of the spaces to increase the insights of prospective advocates to be used later as a support in carrying out advocate practice. This education will be held online until October 15, 2021. There were a number of presenters, consisting of academics, practitioners, and law enforcers who have competence in their respective fields.
