Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is preparing for international accreditation through AQAS or the Agency for Quality Assurance by Accreditation of Study Programs for a number of study programs. Two of them are in the Faculty of Languages and Arts, namely the Japanese Language Education Study Program and the Balinese Language Education Study Program. In anticipation of this, the faculty with three majors continues to consolidate the required documents through a group discussion, Saturday (25/9/2021).
The activity which took place at the Bali Taman Hotel, Buleleng presented three speakers, namely the Secretary of the Undiksha Quality Assurance Center (PJM), Dr. Made Agus Dharmadi, S.Pd., M.Pd., Coordinator of the International Accreditation Division of PJM Undiksha, Dr. Phil. Dessy Seri Wahyuni, S.Kom., M.Eng., and consultant, Dr. rer. nat. Nandi, S.T., M.Sc., from the Indonesian University of Education. Participants in the activity consisted of lecturers from related study programs.
FBS Dean, Prof. Dr. I Made Sutama, M.Pd., said that in order to welcome international accreditation, his party had followed the process designed by the university and had produced documents in the form of lesson plans and modules. He realized that there were still things that needed to be strengthened. Therefore, a group discussion was held to get input and suggestions from the sources with the hope that the documents would be perfect and ready to be submitted. “Right now we want to strengthen our support for the big idea of the Chancellor so that there are study programs that are internationally accredited,” he explained.
In addition to documents, dealing with this accreditation also needs to be supported by adequate Human Resources (HR), especially for the Japanese Language Education study program and the Balinese Language Education Study Program. Prof. Sutama encouraged the lecturers to pay attention to this. For those whose educational qualifications are master’s (S-2), it is hoped that they can immediately proceed to the doctoral level. Likewise with those who have doctorates to prepare for professors or professors and from Lector to Head Lecturer. “We encourage this because human resources are needed,” he added.
Secretary of PJM Undiksha, Dr. Made Agus Dharmadi, S.Pd., M.Pd., assessed that the enthusiasm of the study program to welcome this accreditation was very high. This can be seen from the stimulus through a series of workshops and the existence of discussion dynamics to find the best formula in the preparation of self-evaluation reports (self-evaluation reports) and supporting data. “This is the same as general accreditation in Indonesia or national accreditation. There are documents in the form of RPS, modules, organizational structure, and others. I see that the study program’s enthusiasm is very high in welcoming this international accreditation,” he said.
Academics of the Faculty of Sports and Health added that there are various criteria that must be met in this accreditation which must be supported by data, such as curriculum and quality assurance. In addition, human resources include educational qualifications and positions. No less important, must be supported by adequate infrastructure. “Cooperation is also well done. Then the program implemented can benefit all parties. So that we can go through this AQAS accreditation well,” he added. He hopes that these criteria can be carefully prepared by the study program so that international accreditation can be realized soon. (hms)
