Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to encourage lecturers and students to increase creativity in learning. This is very important, especially in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. In line with that, this superior accredited tertiary institution is preparing a space to share knowledge by holding a workshop, Saturday (2/4/2022).
The workshop material that took place online specifically discussed “Creative Visual Design for Academic Presentation Slides”. The speakers presented were Dr. Ir. Erry Ricardo Nurzal, M.T., MPA., Founder of Blog Presenter Map. He also previously served as Expert Staff for Institutions and Resources for Science and Technology at the Ministry of Research and Technology. This event was attended by lecturers and students.
This material is very closely related to the learning process and influences learning outcomes. Secretary of the Undiksha Learning Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LPPPM), Dr. I Gusti Lanang Agung Parwata, S.Pd., M.Kes., said the industrial revolution era had an impact on the world of education. Learners can easily access various information about knowledge through information technology. This reality is a challenge for educators. “In the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, the role of educators has shifted. With the presence of Google, so often students or students looking for information, literature only through Google,” he said.
Furthermore, Lanang Parwata said that there are five strategies that educators can apply in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. The first is to help students in learning. Second, provide opportunities for students to develop and excel. Third, strengthening character education. Fourth, is technology literacy. Finally, make the teacher an effective educator. “Regarding technological literacy, the material in this activity is one of the media that needs to be developed by an educator. So that technology literacy can make teachers more creative,” he said.
Not unlike lecturers, students must also be able to show creativity, one of which is in academic presentation slides. This is important in order to foster interest from other people to listen to the material presented. (hms)
