Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), Singaraja, Bali proposed the opening of the Midwifery Study Program for the Midwifery Professional Education and Undergraduate Program. This proposal was visited by a team from the Institutional Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and Region VIII Higher Education Service Institutions, Friday (15/7/2022).
The presence of the visitation team was received by Undiksha Chancellor Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd. He was accompanied by Deputy Chancellors, Heads of Institutions, AKPK Bureau Heads, Deans, Deputy Deans, and Study Program Coordinators within the Faculty of Medicine Undiksha, Deputy Postgraduate Director, Director of Buleleng District Hospital, Chair of AIPKIND Korwil Bali, Chairperson of PD IBI Bali Province, Head of PC IBI Buleleng, and others.
The Chancellor of Undiksha, I Nyoman Jampel said that currently Undiksha already has a Midwifery Diploma III Study Program under the auspices of the Faculty of Medicine. In terms of providing access to the community, Undiksha really needs it and even wants to have a midwifery study program for undergraduate programs and midwifery professional education. This is also expected to have an impact on increasing the quality of human resources (HR). In order to support the proposal, the availability and readiness of human resources is a major concern and has been prepared. In addition, the curriculum is also a serious concern in this regard. “If later there is still something that has not been repaired, it will be repaired immediately if there are deficiencies,” he said. In addition, infrastructure facilities are also not spared to be a concern in order to support the learning process in the future.
Meanwhile, the Head of LLDikti Region VIII in his remarks represented by staff said that apart from increasing the accreditation of study programs and tertiary institutions, proposing new study programs that are relevant to needs is one of the ways universities can develop and maintain their existence. In this case, there are 3 important things that must be considered, namely aspects of human resources, infrastructure, and curriculum.
On the other hand, the representative of the Directorate of Institutions, Abdul Rosid explained, field evaluations were carried out to verify the recognition results from the evaluations that had been carried out and also ensure that the documents that had been uploaded were in accordance with the reality in the field. “Please prepare this series of evaluation processes according to the uploaded documents,” he explained.
After the meeting, the visitation team immediately inspected the facilities at the Faculty of Medicine and conducted personal interviews with prospective lecturers and other staff. In this field, visitation was also attended by Dr. Yanti, M.Keb from the Indonesian Midwives Association, Sinar Pertiwi, S.ST., M.Hlth & IntDev Poltekkes Kemenkes Tasikmalaya, Sefryan Daru, Eko Budi Prasetyo, Osvaldo Sativa Amastha, and Abdul Rosid from the Directorate of Institutions.
