Singaraja- Cases of drug abuse in Indonesia are still very worrying. Therefore, prevention efforts must continue, one of which is through education to the public, especially the younger generation. The danger of misuse related to the dangers of illicit goods is realized by the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha). This is shown by the provision of material related to the Danger of Drugs provided by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Buleleng Regency. This activity targets new students participating in an introduction to campus life, Monday (15/8/2022).
The socialization was delivered by the Head of BNN Buleleng Regency, AKBP. Great Astawa. He said this activity was a soft effort to prevent and eradicate drug abuse. This man from Temukus Village explained that university students are still very vulnerable to being affected by negative things because they have an unstable emotional level. Therefore, it is deemed necessary to have a synergy between universities and BNN to provide enlightenment or explanation to students about the dangers of drugs. He gave his appreciation to Undiksha for holding this outreach. It is hoped that this can reduce the number of drug abuse, especially in Buleleng Regency. “I thank Undiksha for inviting us among students,” he said.
Apart from taking a soft approach, BNN also takes firm steps against drug dealers. In this regard, community participation is needed to provide information related to people who are indicated as users or dealers. The last step that is also taken is by means of smart power improvement, namely the approach through social media. With today’s technological sophistication, students are expected to be able to find various sources to find out about the dangers of drugs so that they can also be socialized with the surrounding environment. Furthermore, he hopes that the material presented can make students aware of the dangers of drugs and be able to jointly fight drug abuse. (hms)
