Singaraja- Postgraduate Education University of Ganesha held a doctoral promotion exam, Thursday (24/2/2022). The exam was with promovenda, Ni Wayan Sariani from the Language Education Study Program.
In the exam which took place offline, Sariani presented her dissertation entitled “The Text of Usada Wariga Dalem: A Study of Anthropological Linguistics”. His research aims to analyze the functions, meanings, values, and norms contained in the usada wariga dalem text and to find a revitalization model for the usadha wariga dalem text. The dissertation can be defended before the examiner. This moment also succeeded in making him the 32nd doctor who was “born” in the Undiksha Postgraduate Program. He also won the title of honor with a study period of 2.5 years.
After the exam, Sariani, who is a teacher at SMPN 1 North Kuta, Badung Regency, said she was excited to pursue doctoral education because she considered knowledge to be very important, especially education. He also expressed his pride in studying at the Undiksha graduate school. Services from lecturers and staff are considered very good. “Knowledge is important, especially education, especially studying at Undiksha. The lecturers are also solid and competent in their field,” he said.
His successful completion of studies in under three years has become his target. Realizing that, at the beginning of college he had prepared research study materials. Her efforts and enthusiasm received appreciation from her promoters and co-promoters. “There are important things when we are compiling a dissertation. So don’t just write new courses when you’re done. So we’re late. As soon as we start college, we have to prepare for what we study. Then we will do research,” he said.
On that occasion, he also hoped that the results of his research could provide benefits for language development, especially Balinese. He also invited them to jointly preserve the Balinese language which is part of Balinese culture.
Undiksha Postgraduate Director, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Suharta, M.Sc., welcomed the birth of this new doctor with pride. He also gave his appreciation for his dissertation study on usada. “So what Doctor Wayan Sariani studied is good. Because it has something to do with Balinese culture. Besides that, this is something interesting because it is relevant to local wisdom, especially Tri Hita Karana,” he said. He hopes that the results of his research can be used to provide positive support in the development of the business sector, both in formal and non-formal education.
