Undiksha through its vision of becoming superior based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia in 2045 has launched a program towards internationalization through international accreditation. International accreditation is a form of international recognition for the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education so that it is possible to guarantee that universities are on par with universities abroad. On the other hand, international accreditation is also an effort to achieve the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) of the Ministry of Education and Culture, especially KPI 8 related to obtaining International Accreditation, moreover obtaining international accreditation can be equated with Superior status in BAN PT Accreditation.
International Accreditation has been initiated since the end of 2019, with the spirit and goal of achieving the vision of Undiksha and the Ministry of Education and Culture’s IKU 8, as well as nurturant effects to fulfill/achieve the minimum requirement for Accreditation of Superior Study Programs towards Legal Entity State Universities (PTN-BH) of 60%, where currently Undiksha already has as many as 32% of study programs accredited A. Based on in-depth thinking and research and looking at Undiksha’s internal conditions, then the chosen international accreditation agency is the Agency for Quality Assurance by Accreditation of Study (AQAS) which is an independent institution for quality assurance of a study program based in Germany.
AQAS International Accreditation consists of seven (7) indicators that are assessed, including 1) curriculum quality, 2) quality assurance, 3) learning, teaching, and student assessment, 4) student admissions, study development, recognition and certification, 5) teaching staff, 6) Learning resources and student support, 7) Public information.
Based on a mutual agreement, Undiksha is applying for International Accreditation in stages, starting from 2021 to 2023 by targeting all study programs that are accredited B by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). In 2021, as many as 5 clusters consisting of 21 study programs submitted for AQAS International Accreditation, include;Cluster 1 Accunting and Management, consisting of Study Programs; 1) Bachelor of Accounting Study Program, 2) Master of Accounting, 3) Bachelor of Management, 4) Master of Management,Cluster 2 Computer Science and Informatics Education, consists of Study Programs; 1) Bachelor of Computer Science, 2) Master of Computer Science, 3) Bachelor of Information Systems, 4) Bachelor of PTI,Cluster 3 Natural Science Education, consists of Study Programs; 1) Bachelor of Science Education, 2) Master of Science Education, 3) Bachelor of Chemistry, 4) Bachelor of Chemistry Education,Cluster 4 Elementary and Technology Education, consists of Study Programs; 1) S2 Basic Education, 2) S3 Basic Education, 3) S3 Education Science, 4) S1 Educational Technology, 5) S1 PGSD,Cluster 5 Languange Education, consists of Study Programs; 1) Masters in Language Education, 2) Masters in Language Education, 3) Masters in Japanese Language Education, 4) Bachelors in Balinese Language Education.
AQAS Accreditation activities are carried out through several stages, namely 1) Socialization of the Implementation of AQAS Accreditation to all Undiksha Academic Community, 2)Benchmarking to the Indonesian Education University (UPI) which has obtained AQAS International accreditation, 3) Workshop Series and AQAS Assistance bringing in AQAS Consultants from UPI as well as translating documents, 4) Submit SER, 5) Field Visit, 6) AQAS Accreditation Certification. Currently, through the International Accreditation Division. Undiksha Quality Assurance Center (PJM) and the Cluster Team and Translation Team have completed and perfected self Evaluation Report (SER) and SER attachments to be ready to be submitted in January 2022.
