The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) will again open opportunities for students who wish to study entrepreneurship through the Independent Entrepreneurship 2023 program which is part of the Merdeka Campus in 2023.

The Merdeka Entrepreneurship Program aims to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to start their own businesses. This program was initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in collaboration with various parties, including universities and industrial partners. One of the main focuses of the Merdeka Entrepreneurship Program is to provide comprehensive entrepreneurship education to students. This is done through organizing various workshops, training, and self-development programs that emphasize business and management aspects. Students are given knowledge about basic business concepts, business modeling, marketing, financial management, and business growth strategies.

In addition, the Merdeka Entrepreneur Program also provides access to experienced mentors and business consultants. Students get the opportunity to interact directly with successful business practitioners who can provide valuable guidance, advice, and insights in starting and managing a business. This helps students to understand the challenges they face and hone leadership skills and the courage to take risks.

Reflecting on 2022, the Independent Entrepreneurial Program was attended by 47,723 applicants, 11,524 participants, 453 universities from which they participated, and 12 universities implementing the program.

Benefits of Independent Entrepreneurs 2023

The implementation of the Independent Entrepreneurial Program (WMK) involves several parties, including Students, Universities (PT) Implementing the Program, and Universities from Students. The Independent Entrepreneurial Program 2023 certainly has goals and benefits for students and tertiary institutions. The following are the benefits of participating in the 2023 Merdeka Entrepreneurship for students:

• Provide practical experience for students in entrepreneurial activities through the debriefing process mind set and entrepreneurial competence, development, and creation of business concepts, practices, and entrepreneurial development.

• Have competence in analyzing business and creating business opportunities.

• Have an increase in work capacity which will ultimately improve the quality and capacity of Higher Education graduates.

• Opportunity to be able to study outside campus to develop knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship.

• This program will also provide benefits for students to get credit recognition from a series of activities carried out equivalent to 20 credits.

Learning Stage in Independent Entrepreneurship 2023

Students who take part in the 2023 Merdeka Entrepreneurship will later go through three stages of learning, including:

1. Pre Immersion

At this stage, students will learn about basic entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. Through this, students are expected to be able to improve their mindset so that they can validate business ideas that are owned by entrepreneurship lecturers, practitioners, and coaches.

2. Immersion

This immersion stage involves students directly seeing real business processes by doing onboarding at MSMEs. This step aims to increase student competence in developing business models and making validated prototypes.

3. Post Immersion

This post-immersion stage is a market validation and feasibility study process that can provide opportunities for students to start their businesses. With this step, students are expected to be able to run their business according to the initial plan.

Student Registration Requirements

1. Active students for D2, D3, D4, and S1 education levels (minimum 3rd semester) and Masters and Doctoral education levels (without semester limits)
   2. Not currently preparing a final project or thesis when participating in the program
   3. Not taking courses at the home university while participating in the program
   4. Obtain a letter of recommendation from the Head of the Study Program and the head of the higher education institution in the academic field
   5. Willing to take part in the program full-time or for one semester as evidenced by a student statement

Registration of participants

• Registration is done through the sitehttps://wirausahamerdeka.kampusmerdeka.kemdikbud.go.id.

• Fill in the personal data from the name, place of birth date, validated National Identity Number, and Student Identification Number according to the data in PDDIKTI.

• Ensure that the sub-district, regency, and province data in the MBKM application data match the student’s PT address.

• Prepare letters and documents as required.

• Choose the College Executing the Program as desired.

• Students who are declared not accepted can still join the program by selecting other higher education institutions and must fulfill the required documents.

Timeline Program

• Student registers an account on the WMK platform(22 May 2023 – 30 June 2023)

• Stage 1 selection (Diversity test selection)(29 May 2023 – 30 June 2023)

• Students submit administrative documents at the selected PT (12 June 2023 – 30 June 2023)

• Selection stage 2 (Document Validation by Implementing PT)(June 12, 2023 – July 15, 2023)

• Selection stage 3 (selection of student commitments by PT Implementer)(June 12, 2023 – July 15, 2023)

• Reviewer’s official report as a recommendation for the determination of program participant students (July 17, 2023 – July 19, 2023)

• The plenary meeting determines which students will participate in the program (July 19, 2023 – July 21, 2023)

• Determination of student participants in the program by the head of PT Implementing the Program (July 21, 2023 – July 26, 2023)
